A week before Neil goes on holiday (25th so I assume it gives us till next Thursday 24th), Ward rumours gathering pace that he is off elsewhere, Hill doesn't want to leave QPR, no new contract offers signed (McCormack, Brown, Snoddy, White) and the lack of progress since Pearce signed - is it yet time to start worrying?

Remembering we still needed to replace the likes of Howson and Gradel, we have lost Bromby and half the others are on the list. What is it with signing players, surely you pick your targets and go for them in bulk? Warnock said Pearce is done now on to the next one, I thought it was a figure of speach surely not really one at a time with 14 days minimum between them, we shall run out of time...

We need to strike now and pick those we need and who can do a job, i am starting to sense some barrel scraping coming up or us being manager less when NW's holiday is over and negotiations have been ****ed up while he is away.

Il be worried if we dont announce a signing tomorrow. Warnock says he hoped to have 2 in this week so if there isnt that means we are already losing out on our primary targets. Although there is still along time to turn it around.

We've got 3 months, chill out. How many other teams have made a signing let alone 3. I was aware that contracts run out at the end of may anyway so while a deal could be done, it can't be announced until then

I'm not worried at all at the moment

Believe it or not Josh, my other mistress, Partick Thistle, has signed 3 players already! Not like them ...

English clubs would be more relevant, and I can't think of any team other than Leicester that have been more or as successful up to now since the season end

You're forgetting the context. This manager I'm told to trust his judgement every two minutes has promised us signings by the end of this week. If he doesn't get them then he's just lied to my face, and I should be concerned, or he's been let down by the board, just like I expected, and I should be concerned.

People have been harping on about trusting Warnock and that he's been making all the right noises for a couple of months now, as soon as he's not living up to the noises he's been making (like I was suspicious would happen), suddenly the tune has changed from the wait-and-see crowd and instead of "trust Warnock, he's saying all the right things" it's "trust Warnock, it's only May", completely overlooking that he's welshed on his promises.

Your forgetting that i dont trust Warnock one bit, he's a twat and a fraud

I am still not overly concerned. If he promises 2-3 signings before he goes on holiday and brings in 1, its not a big deal to me because we have so much time to sort out the squad, rushing just means that we will get screwed over by clubs and agents trying to get the most money out of leeds.

And you say people are saying 'its only May' well it is only May. How can you be annoyed that we don't have our squad ready yet?

I don't want our squad ready, I want some positive action and proof that it's not the same old same old. When I've been promised 2-3 signings by the manager, if they don't show up it's just going to reassert my belief that we're going to go through the summer with irons in the fire without ever actually doing anything.

This whole thing about getting screwed by clubs... it's an occupational hazard of going in early for players that are high in demand. Consider the only players we've gone in early for are 2 Portsmouth players and they've got emergency ruling to allow them to cut their wage bill asap, we've landed one of them and the word going round is that we've lost the other to Ipswich. So what went wrong there? Were they trying to fleece Leeds United because it's Leeds and it's early? No. The club and player are going with the highest bidder - since bids from 3 clubs including Leeds were supposedly accepted, that means it's down to the player. So what's gone wrong there? Same old, same old.

So because we've been LINKED with only a few players your worried? Just because we have 'supposedly' (because they are just rumours remember) missed out on ONE player who was in a relegation side you are worried?

Colin has said that there are about 4 players that aren't in the media who he is chasing as well, so you know nothing about any of that. I've already said players contracts run until at least 1st June anyway so a lot of signings happen after then as well.

You are a person who thrives on negative drama

Or perhaps, like I just explained, I've been promised signings by a manager I've been told to trust by all the positive, head-in-the-sand crew and when I do, I'm then further criticised for not ignoring when those promises are not fulfilled. I am writing this whole post in bold because maybe it will get through to you that I actually have a point instead of you just dismissing it as unnecessary negativity.

And Portsmouth are the perfect example of when a negative vibe around the club sucks the life out of the players. They had players that were far better than a relegation side, having too much asked of them over the course of the season, without getting paid and at a club where spirits are down - they were fighting a losing battle. They have a lot of quality in their side, especially at the back. It's been spoken about before, they conceded surprisingly few goals.

I'm not telling you to trust the manager though, I think you continually forget that I ****ing hate our manager.

You can explain something as many time as you like you know. It doesn't mean that someone's opinions will change to yours though

Agreed and part of what worries me.

    1) How many other teams have a complete rebuild, at least 11 have been released or are being sold and 3 still have not signed new contracts, it isn't like we need to strengthen, we need a LOT of players.
    2) Contracts expiring means they either refused new ones with their club so if their club can't afford their wage demands you can bet we can't or they are surplus and not needed.
I fully expect us to fill the squad out with out of contract players, however I expected us to get the back bone in place with first choice targets which means spending a little money with the utmost urgency.

I like quick signings to be some players don't even become available until that team has bought someone as well. We have 3 months, thats a very long time. I'm not the patient type but I do seem to be the most patient on this subject, I prefer the right signings rather than quick signings. If we rush then we may make mistakes is my view

Please think about it, with money and finance tight football is a buyers market this season.

Lets not worry and buy players who are simply not good enough, like we did that last season. The future might be coming through from the academy again like Lees did.
Plus. we still need to move on the deadwood & face the fact that some of them will still be here next year, so we should not panic buy squad players to bench warm.

Don't get me wrong, we still need to hold off buying tickets, memberships etc until we are happy with the team. But give it time and don't let the agents hold us to ransom.

We need every player in place before pre season, they need to gel as a team and learn to work together. Warnock has said so many times 3-4 in place before his holiday, well if Snoddy, McCormack and Brown do not agree new deals then that 3-4 will only cancel those out and we will still require another 10 or so players.

**** me, with the amount of venom being spat you'd swear Warnock is managing Manchester United!! Get a grip, he hasn't promised any signings, he simply said he'd like a couple more done before he goes on holiday. Look, the capture of Pearce was excellent and caught everybody cold. Now things become a bit harder with clubs starting to compete with us, so obviously things become more complicated, especially when players are under contract and fees are involved. Let Warnock do his thing and come pre-season if we have a squad of muppets I will join you in complaining. Do some of you actually ever smile, or do you lock yourselves in the basement when the sun shines? Personally I enjoy waiting to see who we've signed next. One thing we do know is we need players.
