I bought one with the badge over two stripes tonight, but some sniper (who looks like a reseller) almost doubled the price I had to pay :(

£14.14 + £1.99 del. And yeah it's annoying, especially since you just know in the last 10 seconds someone is going to come along and try to snipe it, either beating you or just driving the price up.

    Not too bad though.
it's so annoying when that happens, but on occasion i've been guilty of it myself. I put an impulse bid in on a xbox game the other month, had no idea why and kinda hoped i got out bid, but then got out bid and carried on bidding mainly because i didn't wanna back down. i eventually lost it and cuz i was so determined to win one i bid on another one and won that. purely because i didn't wanna back down haha.

i am sure i read somewhere it was because it was addidas's first kit with newcastle utd, they wanted to put out two types when all they really did was move the crest over a little bit.

i think it was on a historical football strip website, my nephew done a school project a couple of years ago regarding north east football strips.

    GUTTED
Just lost an auction for this shirt on ebay, the 'rarer' one with the badge straddling the stripes. lost it in the last 10 seconds!
i was leading for the entire thing, no more bidders other than one guy, 12 seconds to go, some guy whacks in a bid of 4 quid that goes above mine, then we both stick in a bid of a fiver so our final bids were the same, but he got his in 3 seconds or something before mine! absolutely gutted, i shoulda bid higher earlier!!!

and it was a small as well. im rather slender so i'd need small, and you never see small shirts on ebay!!

Unlucky, and yeah 95% of sellers seem to have been fat bastards, most shirts are at least XL in my experience. Was the hijacker someone with 5185 feedback and tons of recent bids on other football shirts? (click the bids button to see). Next time if you're first there make a small bid, then a few incrementally higher up to the absolute maximum you'll pay. Should drive the bid count up to scare people off, and increases the chance of you winning for less than you'd otherwise pay.

He only had like 100 feedback or so.
I'm secretly hoping that the winner was a friend of the guy who put up the item who just bid to help bump up the price, therefore he'll put it up again and BAM.... probably not though :(

i whacked in a final bid of a tenner as the highest i'd go (low on funds) but it was only a couple of seconds too late.

absolutely gutted to be honest. never ever see small shirts. my next target is a medium sized 93 home shirt. ends tomorrow night. wish me luck.

Good luck, might have to sneak on and nick it ;) Think my kit buying spree is over for now though, until I get a new job or completely sorted for uni at least. In last couple of months I've bought 95-97 & 97-99 (LS) home, and 96/7, 97/8 & 98/99 away strips. Only just noticed that they all run together nicely lol

ahh, nice buying! very jealous! how much did you spend overall?
I wanted the long sleeved 95-97 shirt initially, but from other sites it's like 50 quid. too much for me to splash out on.

i'm off home this weekend so i'm gonna get out all my old tops and make a list of which i've got so i know for future reference! ha

Around £45-47 including delivery on them (1/3 of that on 95-97 home), not too bad considering that's how much the cheaply made puma kits started off at. The only other kits I've still got which still fit are the 05-07 and 07-09 home, and 07/8 away. Only kits left I really want are 93-95 home and away, 04-05 3rd (gold one). I seem to have lost my 04-05 away <wah>.

not bad for 5 strips then!
i'm still seething from losing the kit to be honest.
i doubt any of my shirts still fit me that well to be honest. i've grown quite a bit in the past few years. couldn't get a shirt the past 2 seasons, couldn't afford to at all :emoticon-0106-cryin :emoticon-0106-cryin

reckon im gonna go on a strip buying spree when i get my loan in next month! spending wisely, obviously! haha

Surprisingly hard to find old squad photos, but looks like it does vary by size or from each kit to kit. Both styles are present.
