The result we be forgotten but everyone would be delighted if it meant your rivals going down or not winning the title. Even Stoke fans were hoping for a loss to see us down. Youre telling me youd want to win a game even if it meant handing the title to city or liverpool while meaning nothing to your team? So for all QPR fans. 3 points for us and finishing 14th handing chelsea the title? 0 points for us and finishing 14th while Chelsea win the league? You cant be a true fan if youd want your rivals to win anything.
I write the reports because people seem to like them Dave (admittedly, they probably are a little over your head as they do tend to involve tactics, formations and the like....but do your best to try to understand them mate). Plus....we stayed up because we got more points than 3 other teams....not just because of the Stoke game!! The bench got carried away and shouldn't have celebrated staying up which probably led to some of the players mentally switching off....er....that's it!! Some of the reaction to this is so over the top!!
Just so I get this clear, do some of you think we threw this game or we just relaxed too much after hearing the Stoke result?
Definitely the latter although Bothroyd's punt to the corner from the re-start still makes absolutely no sense.
I was very disappointed for a few seconds - had been dancing round the room as we went into injury time - but actually think it was the result of being under such intense pressure for so long, the concentration failed through exhaustion rather than relaxation. Thing I want to remember is what an epic game it was in what incredible circumstances.
I am replying to the opinion that the viewpoints here are crazy I think thats wrong and sorry but you need to understand that this has effected some fans. Carry on with the education
Derry said he did not know of the result at Stoke until after City's 2nd goal. Clint, I think it was, is quoted on another thread on here saying none of the back 4 knew the game at Stoke had finished and we were safe util after City's 2nd goal, when SWP and Jamie came and told them. I don't understand why people are still saying we relaxed at the end in view of this, don't you believe Derry and Clint? Looking at the end of the game I see no sign of relaxation. Maybe some players knew and relaxed subconsciouly but if you believe Derry and Clint as I do then the key back 4 and Derry didn't know. I also read Betty was told by the bench to do what he did! We did fantastic but there is no doubt City deserved their win. We stayed up despite being on the receiving end of way over a normal share of diabolical refereeing decisions all season, and I'm still celebrating that! If some fans also want to celebrate City winning the title and not United so be it, I couldn't give a flying f*kk who won it and still don't.
I am pleased the OP posted this,I got a lot of flak on here for suggesting this as early as Sunday. My point really was that a QPR win would have been THE result of the last twenty years, your team would have been talked about forever. It's not black and white and I don't suggest all,or even some,of your players thought "we'll throw it". But they did know the result they must have done because the QPR supporters went into raptures when the Stoke-Bolton match finished.I'm sorry some of you took it the way you did because QPR are definitely my favourite London club although I think the treatment of Colin was a bit shabby.
I thought about that, but it's not like it was Chelsea going for the title.Sorry but i didn't know that QPR considered Utd as rivals.
A lot of people here are talking claptrap. Real QPR fans couldn't give a fiddlers fu*k who wins the title if it meant QPR winning a game. Gaz, I'm sure you've realized at this stage (presuming you're past puberty) that there's no love lost on United from fans around the Country. You've bought the title for years and recently you've been cheating your way to winning games - as if you needed any help to beat sh*t teams in the first place. So you can forgive us if we're not doubled up in guilt at yourselves and Cashley Young missing out on another title.
honestly Swords. It ain't the point of denying us the title.****..When the fixture came out I had it as guaranteed 3 points to City! It's the fact that your supporters were cheering when City scored...Against you?!! obviously you hate us more than you love your own team! Honestly I'd understand if it was City/Utd, Liverpool/Everton, Celtic/Rangers, Sheff.Utd/Sheff Wed....But QPR/UTD?!??
We don't hate you more than we love us get over yourself, we have no particular connection with you, it was a few people taking the piss cos we had stayed up, our only objective for the day. most fans were pretty gutted to throw away the lead anyway, there's a few fans light heartedly celebrating the city goal and two are obviously city fans cos they've got manc accents
