If Wigan's season had happened the other way round, i.e. they started off really well but then trailed off and just about managed to survive, i'm sure that Martinez would be getting much less praise.
Of course they will. I imagine Liverpool will be interviewing quite a few prospects over the next week
Oh dear god. They sack Kenny to replace him with this ****ing relegation battler. It could be a long long time before we get back near champs league. Martinez will not last, the fans will not fancy him from day one and rafa will be back mark my words.
I'm scared now. Please, please let him be just one of several candidates. Does anyone at the club think about what they're doing to MY HEALTH
Oh, I forgot that 'have approached' is synonymous with 'appointed'... Do you honestly think they'll only interview one man and hire him there and then?? The knee-jerking here is ridiculous.
Martinez will be a tremendous asset to LFC, IF you want to rebuild the Club. He improved Swansea in every aspect, same too with Wigan. Given the opportunity to repeat the process with greater resources, he will be a success, I have no doubt about that.
Why all this negativity? Martinez is quality, without him Wigan would have been relegated years ago. He'll get you playing as well as Kenny did imo. Already you're writing this guy off not giving him a chance, he's bound to fail without the fans backing him.
It is not good form to ask Managers of other Clubs to interview for the vacancy, without it being a job offer.
Over some of the names being mentioned, yes! He's got class, never bad mouths anybody, tactically spot on and makes shrewd signings. Give him some money and I'm sure he'd do well.
It's done all the time. Not everyone publicises it like Whelan though. He'll be in it to get some £ in compensation.
