I've said before that if Podolski is worth £10 million then I would rate Siggy at £7 million tops - just compare their experience, the level they've played at and their achievements to date. However, Siggy was such a good fit that I would be happy for some sort of add on deal if Hoffenheim are demanding more cash - perhaps linked to us staying in the PL when we would have another £46 million to play with. Not ecstatic about Cox, I see him as a decent squad player, useful but no more. Would prefer Traore as a completely different option for us but it will depend on our budget of course. Obviously we all have our thoughts and, ultimately, the buck stops with Buck (sorry!!). We have to trust him and he hasn't done badly so far.
I'm a bit underwhelmed by Cox too. Traore is an unknown and looks like a handful - though a much more expensive option.
If jinks was offering £4.5 million and that is the offer he and the board think is a fair price then i would suggest they would know better than any of us the true value to swansea what he is worth, Yes we will have offered the bottom end of our offer and there will be room for an improvement. Now we are talking about Huw here and there is no way he would pay an extra £3.5 million on our initial offer, fair play he has gone to see them in person and will try and get them to let him go for no more than £5 million with an extra million if we manage to stay up next season. Huw will be gutted if he has to pay an extra half a million so dont expect him to have a major fit and pay an extra £3.5 million because he wont do it, and i would be on his side on this as siggs has only been with us for a short time and its to much of a risk on a player that we dont know if it was a flash in the pan or he is the real deal, remember the last 5 or so games he has not had everything his way and not scored. we should progress in the transfer market like we have done as it has got us to where we are and stay within our limits and increase how much we pay for a player year by year.....£3.5 mill last season......£5mill maximum this season...£6.5 mill the season after next depending if we are still here.....
Are you Dai's opposite twin?? Hell that's one sound view of Jenkins there Dai, the Jenkins you wanted out!!..........
Another one - Nathaniel Clyne, Crystal Palace right sided defender aged 21. Seems to have bags of potential and well thought of: 2009/10/11 Palace young player of the year; 2010 Football League young player of the year; October 2011 Championship player of the month and at right back in the 2011/12 Championship team of the season. Supposed to be out of contract and obviously has good sense - turned down a move to Wolves in 2010 without even going to speak to them. Solid defensive cover and potential for the future?
dragon you should know by now i have spoken to jinks many times over the last 10 years. i knew him before he joined the set up here. we get on well but that does not mean i should agree with everything he has done or will do in the future. he did not back martinez or sousa when he should have and he was not going to back brendan until two board members threatened to resign, I have told you all this before that a major board meeting was held and jinks was overruled, since then you have only heard me speak well of jinks as he is now well balanced in running the club and what he is doing trying to get siggs is the right way and the only way without breaking the way the club is run now......if i see him in and around swansea then we always have time for each other.....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18103262 No idea where they got this source from. I don't mind Gunter but don't think Emnes could do a job in the Prem
I think Emnes would slot nicely into our team. He's had a good season with Boro. EP reckons we're in for him.
Owen is injury prone,so best given a wide berth. Wages would be too high for Swansea, anyway. Prefer to take a punt on Marvellous Marvin. I can still see him turning the entire bloob defence before putting a 20 yarder past their keeper,at Legoland. Magic Marvin.
why would owens wages be enormous valley? He has more money than sense and says its not about money its about playing premiership football for the last time, im sure what we pay our top earners would be more than enough.....and he will be near FFos Las...
owen is not injury prone...where do you get that from??? he just happens to be down the pecking order at man utd ....he has no more injuries than any other striker and is a prolific scorer whoever he has played for.....he could teach our strikers a thing or two and thats a fact.....
I heard it on the radio today,Dai. He has been injured a lot in last three seasons. Incidentally, his scoring ratio over those seasons similar to Grahams. If he's as good as you think he now is,there will be a stampede for his signature. Better stand by then.
Think we may stretch the budget a little for Sig - maybe even as far as £8 million - don't know why, just a feeling!
