I very rarely go to games due to my location.

I have an lfc magazine subscription.

I generally buy a shirt everytime I go to Anfield.

I love Liverpool to bits and follow them every single day........i do get pissed offafter a bad result, but two days later i cant wait for the next game.

I watch Senior, U18s and reserves games when ever they are on.

And I love the Clubs motto...youll never walk alone is a great mantra to live by in association to your friends and family.

Dont know where that puts me....fan i guess, but id like to think of myself of more........

I'd go for between Fan and Supporter.

I do buy shirts and other Liverpool stuff and have been a Liverpool Fan/Supporter ever since I was born. My dad is a Liverpool Fan/supporter and is from Liverpool and my Dads family still live in Liverpool. Despite being born and living outside of Liverpool I did choose to go to Liverpool for Uni on the back of supporting the club.

However I rarely go to games, mainly for two reasons. 1; Cant really afford to go to alot. 2; Saturday games are completely out, as during the football season I play Hockey on a Saturday, alot of Sundays too, which runs almost completely through the football season.

I had this argument with a blue nose a while back. His definition of a 'true fan' was going to games. Simple. Home and away.

    I disagree on several fronts.

    1. Cost - I simply could not afford to go to home and away games with my two boys.
    2. Availibility. Unlike Everton we don't give away season tickets with mobile phone contracts (true btw) - I have been on the waiting list for 6yrs. Even living in Liverpool getting tickets isn't easy for the decent games.
    3. Real life gets in the way. I spend a lot of time travelling both in the UK and abroad with my job. I want to see my kids grow up and spend some time with my missus - on a weekend there is no way I can do both. Attending mid week matches is not an option for me 90% of the time.

I go to 4 or 5 games a season, have Sky and stream rarely. I religously watch every match I can by one means or another, buy new kits for my boys every season and lots of other club gear (bags, water bottles etc).

But all this is boll*ocks IMO. Being or not being a 'fan' is soley determined by the way your club makes you feel. I'm gutted when we lose and elated when we win, I live and breath LFC every day consuming news and media and discussing our fortunes with anyone who will listen. LFC is my club, it belongs to me regardless of how much I support them financially.

*puts away LFC scarf and climbs down from the desk*

I stopped going to games regulaly when I moved to Barcelona 7 years ago, although I went to the Nou Camp at least once a month. I used to fly back for at least 3 matches a season where i could.

I moved back begining of the year and due to buying a house, Football is not my top priority at the moment so just watch games on TV or the internet if not being shown. But i'll never miss a match and try to catch most ressie & kids games.

can i just state that reduction of support down to how much money makes us all cash cows to be milked.

caring or not caring means more than shoveling cash down fat cats throats.

I like what aurelio's fav doc just wrote personally.....

Oh and i pre-ordered a lfc new kit and wish i didn't... I refused under G&H to give them money cos they were stealing it and now i can see maybe FSG could be the same if they make the decisions they need to make in a certain way...

just cos you spend this or that money doesn't matter a damn. its all about the love, care and time.. things moeny can't buy that matters.

A guy travelling 6 hours to an away game = the best kind of supporter. the guy wathcing every match, spending every day looking at rumours gossip etc etc...

guys like say chris on this site for example.

How is streaming bad but paying to suck Sky dick is good?

We need new fans to feed the business our beloved game now is, until capitalism ****s off and dies and we get our game back. That's fine as long as once you're in you're in for life. Fans love the club, its traditions and its legends. I'd have gone to the Championship under Kenny. Glory hunters judge managers and players according to short-term media headlines.

For some fans every game is an away game. The world's changed since I went to my first game in 1968. There was no 18/5 back then, sonny. To begin with there's more youngsters telling me I'm not a proper fan and my hurt doesn't count as much as theirs cos they've got a big wage they can afford to buy more merchandise with. Got a nice mug on your desk, have you? That must be better than my memories of 1977.

    Bite my Red arse.

i think the distinction is not even you are enough of a sports fan to ahve sky, epsn etc but that you either go to games or you don't... the "fan" seems to be the guy who'll watch games like a parasite on a stream while a glory hunter won't even do that while only those who go to anfield and by extention away games are supporters.

Never been to a game (apart from The Legends v The Allstars) and I rarely buy shirts so I'm obviously a Glory Hunter.

Form an orderly queue and only one stone each please.

I go to four or five home games a season, and living in Devon this generally means an overnight stay in Liverpool. I also try to get to a couple of away games, normally in London as I have mates with Arsenal and QPR season tickets. I'm in the LFC members scheme and have been for eight years. I buy myself, and my two sons replica shirts every season. I watch every game, either on Sky, or stream from net. AND I ****ING HATE IT WHEN WE LOSE.
What category do I fall into?

I don't give a **** what category people put me into. I went to my first Liverpool game 50 years ago and I've been LFC through and through ever since, and no-one can tell me anything different. And wherever I am in the world, I always will be- until senility makes me forg... erm..

    What are we talking about?....
