Like the transfer thread. Here we can talk about managers being linked. So far we have:

    Andre Villa-Boas
    Roberto Martinez
    Frank Rijkaard
    Juergen Klopp
    Didier Deschamps
    Brenden Rogers
    Alan Pardew
    Rafa Benitez
    Fabio Capello
    Michael Laudrup
    Pep Guardiola
    Harry Redknapp

What names do you and dont you like?

Don't like Rogers, pathetic choice if we go for him. Mcleish did the same with Birmingham, won some awards blah blah, now look at him! Feel we should avoid martinez too, the last time we hired someone who could do wonders with small clubs, he was out the door within half a year.

Would love any of AVB, Klopp or Deschamps

    Marcelo Alberto Bielsa
    Diego Simeone

I think both of those are worthy considerations and good choices

I would like Bielsa but he doesn't speak English which would make things difficult.

Is he strongly linked though? I've been reading a few reports which suggest he isn't the right man because he's too old? Which would be a real shame as he's number one on my list!

I have no opinion based on any facts or abilities.

I have an opinion on the "type" of manager we need though and honestly i don't know how fsg are going to pick one!

I have to agree, i think he is being linked because of fans views rather than what FSG are lookin at. Would be a good choice in my book. But Im going to be completely open minded and not have favorites.....Whoever come in, i will get excited and back them 100%...

So long as their name is not: Allardyce, Hughes, Bruce or God forbid even Dowie.

AVB or Martinez would be both disasters imo. AVB is famous for failing at Chelsea and Martinez is a nice bloke but he has not done anything to suggest he should be considered for a top job . Rafa would be my choice simply because the likes of Pep and Klopp for me are not realistic targets and I think rafa is the best person we could actually get.

Dony buy the media bull**** about AVB "failing" at Chelsea, no one else can do a better job of managing those oldies egos, all di matteo's doing now is playing in their set formation and pandering to them, problem is, AVB knew that would only last so long and he had to start making some changes and plan for the future. He was never given a chance, but that's what we've come to expect from Abramavich

Bielsa would be great if we wanted to be a cup team, I like his style of football and the formation 3-1-3-3 but don't think he really suits us or the PL.

    No mention of Mourinho? <whistle>

You lot slated me on here the other day when i said Dalglish is too old school to take you forward. Yes he was a great player and got you out of trouble when you needed him last season but although i dont like American owners as they are always ruthless whatever business they go into and i know its not football but look at what they have done at Cadburys they have taken the place apart after all their initial promises to the staff. Your owners have done the same wirh the management but they are looking at restructuring to take your club forward. Im afraid these foreign owners dont know football the way we know it and they look at it from a totally different perspective as fans. The old days of how Liverpool used to promote from within are now long gone and as much as i like Kenny Dalglish i do think the decision for your club was the right one as watching some of your games when you were on TV i did find you boring to watch. Yes some of you are going to slate me as i support a L1 team but Dalglsih's methods were very 1980's.

I wish Liverpool well as you are a great club and i have alot of friends who travel every week from Southampton to watch you play and i hope you get the good times back as you all wish.

I dont understand the knocking of Martinez either when you consider with the team he has at Wigan and the type of football he instills in his players they do play attractive football and i feel someone like him who is a very clever manager and forward thinking and very tactically astute and with a better calibre of player that he would have at Liverpool you would see some fantastic football with him in charge. If it is him who takes over i hope you all get behind him and support him unlike the way Hodgson was treated from day one.

I know nothing about this Biesla guy, but a 3,1,3,3? Cant imagine that in the PL.

Haven't seen any thing on Mouriniho.

He managed Chile in the last World cup and they did well and he's currently the Bilbao manager, he's a very good manager but as you say not suited to the PL.

You say he doesnt have a good team. But his players are always been hounded and pinched by bigger clubs.

Valencia and N'Zogbia have left them.

Rodallega, Al-Habsi, Diame, Figuroa, Moses, McCarthy have all reportedly been tracked by big clubs.

Guadiola at first sight would seem unrealistic but he could'nt hack the pressure at Barca so maybe a slightly less high profile job with lower expectaions would appeal to him, also the Rodolfo Borrell link could prove to be quite important.

Not saying he definatley would be interested but would be unwise to rule him out I think.
