FSG have said they are looking for a long term successes to Dalglish, who can be in charge for a minimum of four years. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18097439 Sounds like they know what they are doing to me! Dont expect a manager over 60 years old.
"Intermediaries acting for the club have spoken with Andre Villas-Boas, but he is unlikely to get the job." why not? :/
I think that's the journalist's own spin - that AVB 'failed' at Chelsea. I'd like him at Anfield. He's young, exciting, plays good football, and our dressing room would surely be more receptive than Chelsea's. Less egos.
what i can see here is some specifics which would suggest at least the journo is willing to back his sources by putting his name to the links he's made. I see some generalizations which come from just general press rumour mongering as well... any time i see general fluff in articles i assume its padding to make a story look better. I for one don't read any real grand plan or strategy behind things at this time. I would like to see these things be delat with and then judge. 1. transfer kitty is pathetic and would not get 2 top players. Thats something thats floted about for a couple of weeks and nobody can say if it's true. If it is then they should not have sacked kenny cos nobody can get cl football when competing with the teams up there on 30mil net spend from a position like ours. 2. villa boas.. again just recycling stuff... same for martinez.. all just recycling rubbish that no-one can say yes or no to. 3. marina's tweets = nothing special there anyone can go to paul, kenny and marina's tweets. 4. he is very specific about two names for DoF which is interesting. 5. Mention of a CEO role is a bit surprising seeing ayre is doing that. that would suggest either the journo isn't at all up to speed or has in fact got some inside track. who knows? 6. nobody seems to be able to say if clarke stayed or not.. funny that. All in all 90% of that peice was already known but the journo did put in two specific DoF names. I could have written the rest. hopefully the club website will get its act together and they americans start communicating with the fans. they need to.
Maybe if they had a DofCommunications it would run more smoothly... But John Henrys a bit busy at the mo. "unfollowing" KD on twitter. I joke not; it's like a teenage break-up.
if henry did this its fairly rubbish... did he unfollow kenny like that? not that it matter but kenny hardly uses the thing and would never rubbish the club. clearly not even a ambassadorial role remains.
I think FSG have communicated with us very well. They put a massive statement on .tv the other day which I shared on here. It was very reassuring.
well I think they communicated a lot better before. When they actually came over and gave their time and spoke with fnas on the tv station for example. In this case the website main page never updated and their statements have been what i'd call general. there is an information vacuum now that would be filled by them communicating.... not specifics but more general directional plans what is this grand plan? who knows!
btw i was on the website the minute this came out and it is only now its updated the front page. I've already read the stuff. I've read ian ayre's stuff and frankly i don't want to hear from him i want to hear form the horse's mouth.. if they have to say hey sorry kenny's great but we need modern methods and thinking then while it'd hurt kenny it'd be the truth... IF they appoint a manager afterwards that meets those criteria.
I still dont see the problem. Your writing them off after one day. If thats your attitude then our new manager is doomed.
To be fair KD used twitter during his ambassador role. He stopped tweeting after he became manager: think he stayed on to keep tabs on what his players were saying after the Babel incident. It's not important in the grand scheme just looks petty. Interestingly the players on twitter are in lock down mode. As for corporate communication all we are hearing is "there is a plan" and "we won't publicise the plan" (Ayre) This would be ok a year ago but all of the large number of high position sackings are reactive & in the last 3 months. That doesn't sound all that planned to me. Now if they said we got things wrong & we have a new plan or even we got sidetracked & let emotion yours & ours deviate us from our original plan then fair enough. (although that statement would only cover Kenny not the rest) There has been an overall sense of learning to walk/naivety about the club for the last year. Unless the new appointees are very experienced football/PR people I'll fear a continuation of that feeling as everyone finds their feet; once again.
all i know is if you get shut of so many at this juncture and not replace them fast its weird talking about a plan. ok if you concluded comolli was not it and didn't sign during january why leave him in situ until April? why is cotton going now? that sort of thing.... it's more naural to evolve over the year than do it all at once. I just see the entire summer transfer window being wasted potentially and that bad news. i will wait and see what they do next but i can't see a manager in place before mid june earliest. If they bring in a huge name tomorrow great but if they appoint a nobody in 6 weeks time it'll not be good... i just don't know whats going to happen.
And I've to clean something up as I brought it in. Henry didn't stop following KD. Apparently never did. KD followed Henry & still does. Still not important but wouldn't want people thinking I'm talking more sh*te than I actually am!!
