GK â Hart, Green, Ruddy DF â Baines, Cahill, Cole, Johnson, Jones, Lescott, Terry M â Barry, Downing, Gerrard, Lampard, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Parker, Walcott, Young, Milner S â Carroll, Defoe, Rooney, Welbeck I think the fact that Terry has gone is a disgrace and I am unsure on both Carroll and Defo, both of whom have either not played or been in poor form. Also suprised on Gerrad, Downing and Lampard. Not the team I was hoping for.
Never mind all of that mate, WHAT A DISGRACE IT IS THAT ANDY CARROLL IS GOING INSTEAD OF CROUCH!!!. Carroll has been out of form all season and crouch has been firing them in on a regular basis. You also have to look at perofrmances. It was only a week ago when newspapers were LAUGHING at how bad Carroll is. Lets be honest and say that the only reason Crouch isnt going is because he plays for Stoke, FACT!!!. ****ing ****e and as for Downing and Terry going, **** ME!!!!!!!!! Same side, same performance expected, SHIIIIIIITTTTTEEEEEE!!!!. We are still taking the same players who have had 12 YEARS to prove themselves and achieved nothing, what a joke!!! The only positve is chamberlain being in the squad. Oh and also can anyone tell me how Walcott keeps getting in when he is dog muck? As you can tell im not the happiest person about the named squad, however I will still support them.
Ric, I have to agree. Carroll has been (and is) crap and struggles to get regular starts for his club. Crouch deserved a call-up but is not even on standby, but as you say he plays for Stoke. I am very disappointed. And Downing has been crap all season (except that he scored against us in the FA Cup). And John Terry is very fortunate IMO
Not suprised on Crouch not getting selected and I said on another thread that I think it was just as much his age as it was the fact that he played for Stoke! Some of the midfield selctions were verfy strange!
I can't see us doing well, can't see how Lescott, Terry or Downing got selected either. Home before the postcards!!
I think Terry should go. He's an absolute dick, but very good at his job. I can never understand how Walcott gets in, or G. Johnson, another one I can't understand is Milner.... Might just be the quality in the man city team, bit I've not heard how name all season.
If players are selected on form, then by definition they ahve to be playing! Numerous players in thats squad dont play week in week out for their club. In relation to Terry being a Dick - thats an understatment! Again, regardless of his ability (which is nowhere near the standard it was 2 years ago) is conduct and attitude both on and off the pitch should rule him out immediatley - Rio has played more prem games this season and kept more clean sheets?
Carroll going ahead of Holt and Crouch is a disgrace. I'd could have stomached Crouch over Holt due to Crouch's goal scoring record for England. BUT CARROLL??? what the hell? And then there's Downing...but I'd rather do a poo than discuss him.
Downing, Lescott, Barry and Milner imo is ridiculous.. Never rated Barry or Milner. Pleased for The Ox looks a smashing player and he's young. Walcott? not much has changed in fact, we've no chance winning it, NOT that we would anyway with those players. Adam Johnson? WHY not select him, imo far better player than Walcott. In two words we're shafted before we start. Terry is nowhere near as he was in fact, I think he's a liability too slow and forwards of International class will be too much. As for Terry and not Rio he's always injured is the excuse made by Woy. He may as well have selected younger players, give em a chance the experience can only help them in the future. As for Terry.. I can't wait for that upcoming trial.. IF the worst happens what then?

Barry has had a really good season, he deserves to be picked, and I've already said about Milner, I don't remember his name cropping up too often throughout the season. As for Lescott, most of Man City's dropped points were when Kompany was out and Lescott was their alleged best defender. Can't understand Walcott either... Is Lennon injured or something? He's just as quick and can cross a ball. Walcott couldn't cross a road. Adam Johnson would be better, but to be for I haven't seen him do much other than run really fast, but he seems more promising than Walcott. I still stand by John Terry, he is getting a bit slow, but still, better than Rio IMO, and we need someone commanding like him at the back if we're going to have to carry G Johnson and Lescott.
Like I said, I wouldn't take him on principle! Whats he going to do this tournament, make the players go on strike? Look at the sh4t that went on at the world cup when the whole camp was split in 2 because Capello wouldnt let them bring their wives in? Gerrad and alot of the players had to come out and say the didnt authorise Terry to protest - he just took it upon himself! We all know aswell that if his MR LOOPHOLE solicitor hadn't got his case pushed back until after the Euros (how convienent) he wouldn't be playing! The guy thinks he runs Chelsea and England and whilst he is probably the best that we have, he aint that good and will get burnt for pace in the internationals! What he going to do - knee a striker in his back again because he cant mark him?
