I will be following my grandfathers Ireland for the Euros as i can't bring myself to support England while that horrible person Terry is involved!. I think he is a very good football who is comfortable with both feet and i understand that you should pick your best players but i can't help feeling that his racist remarks (plain to see on YouTube) and his cowardly knee in the back on Sanchez have been swept under the carpet. Lets look at Barton, his actions were disgusting and i hope he never plays for us again but in my opinion Terrys were far worse yet the FA seem run scared when its an international player. His half time lie of sanchez running into the back of him was retracted after he witnessed the footage himself and then so called experts claim it takes a big man to come out and say it must have looked bad!!! I don't like or rate barton but there is an obvious case of double standards at play here!! Come on Ireland!!
Bobmid, a couple of points. Thanks for supporting Ireland. We need all the support we can get. Realistically, we are just not at the level of other teams in our group let alone the competition. But we will bring our own styleof play and fun to the competition and who knows............. I am not English but even i too can understand your disappointment at Terry being selected. It seems the FA just consistently get it wrong. However, put this disappointment to one side, forget about Terry and support your Team. A few years back many Irish fans had the same feeling when Roy pathetic Keane came back and played for Ireland. I was sick to the bottom of my stomach to see him back in an Irish jersey. But this would never stop me supporting my country . Forget Terry mate, he is scum but get behind your country.
With a bit of luck Terry will break a leg against Bayern and, I imagine, everyone outside Stamford Bridge would be deliriously happy and England would have a much more focussed support...
I'll watch the games but with probably 0.1% of the anxiety or excitement of watching Rangers. I like Hodgson a lot but it's difficult to support a team that will probably include Terry, Cole, Lampard, Gerrard, Young and Rooney.
I will support England, I'm English, that's natural, but the difference I feel supporting England and supporting QPR couldn't be bigger. QPR is about genuine passion - its not a choice - it just is. A QPR result can have a huge effect on me, on my mood, on the length of my finger nails. When QPR score, I go wild. I jump and shout and generally lose it. When England score, I'm happy of course, but nowhere near the same effect. Club football and international football couldn't be further apart in my eyes.
