Aye so I've heard - and a small percentage of the aid goes to help the people who need it and the rest goes to the government of the country!! Still a load of bollocks IMO

"Chek Lap Kok" sounds like a strip club!!!

Why do people always bang on about Thatcher? Yes, she was off her tits, but she inherited a dog's breakfast of a country that had just been bailed out by the IMF. Denis Healey wanted to tax the rich until their pips squeaked, so what did they do? Buggered off and took their money with them. Terrific! Until we get a party that marries social responsibility (Labour's strong suit) with fiscal responsibility (Tory strong suit) we're basically ****ed. Labour ran up a budget deficit of £430M a day (that's a DAY, people) and some on here want to go back to that. Check out what's happening in Greece for a peek into the future with regard to that one.

What knobs me off the most is that for the first time in my lifetime, we have a Government that should, on paper, be just what we need. The coalition is, however, a complete bollocks up and who do we have waiting in the wings? ED Milliband FFS!! Labour couldn't even pick the right brother, which shows just how much use they are. In the meantime, we're stuck with the Dave and George show and **** know's where that's taking us, because they sure don't.

Politics is a bunch of complete arse, frankly...

Nice post Syd, and you have some extremely valid points, seems after every Labour government, we end up in the ****. Time is about right to stop bailing others out, and start giving a **** about our own folks for a change. We give aid to India, who have a ****in space program???? Their companys like TaTa are buying up the world, IE Jaguar, makes no sense to me.

It's not so much the problems come after every Labour Government, Bill. It's the constant swinging from left to right if you ask me. Why can't we just have a bit of common sense? I think that's why Boris Johnson is popular in London. He's a Tory who doesn't toe the line and says what needs saying. If he isn't the goon he projects himself as he may have potential. Hard to tell though, as these political types are slippery buggers.

I live in the US and the usual statement here is "You get the Government you deserve". In most cases it is true. The sheep vote for anyone who says they are going to give you tax breaks little thinking of who is going to pay for them.....remember George W Bush the village idiot from Texas....what a disaster.....enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember years ago, when folks in the states, put signs on their lawns saying " I DONT EXIST FOR THE GOVERNMENT, THE GOVERNMENT EXISTS FOR ME" or something akin to that. but true nevertheless, unfortunately, being Brits, we just lie back and take the **** they give us, and as a warrior nation I find this hard to swallow.

Ask anyone who has worked with or had work done (by the likes of) Poles and other new migrants and they will tell you first hand how much harder they work compared to the British worker. Mexicans in US say precisely the same thing ...but yeah, let's blame Johnny foreigner eh?
