For former Chelsea manager Andre Villa Boas. AVB is now joint fav with Roberto Martinez. AVB would be a statement of intent imo as opposed to Martinez. He had it rough at Chelsea but at least it will have been a learning curve for him out of his system before his next job. Would have AVB ?
I think FSG will want someone with top game experience. Both AVB and Martinez would be a risk, I think someone like Capello or Rafa would be a safer bet since they have both done the business at big clubs. Of course, they both have downsides too. Capello isn't exactly young and Rafa would be a second return to the past appointment in two recruitments. Interesting then Steve Clarke is 33-1 to be the next manager considering he still attended the Boston game... Martinez is 2-1 Brendon Rodgers is 3-1 AVB is 4-1 Rafa is 5-1 Alan Pardew (WTF?) is 10-1 Fabio Capello is 12-1 Frank Rijkaard is 14-1 and so on... plus... Carragher is 50-1 Gerrard is 150-1
I've mentioned him a few times, before his spell at Chelsea we would have loved to have him, nothing has changed imo.
AVB would fit the bill of a young man who looks to have the talent. There is no way they'd go for someone more stubborn yet more experienced ie capello and Rafa. It will be Martinez or AVB for sure
I'm firmly in the Rafa camp.Knows the club inside out and has the proven track record of success. FSG must be looking at Rafa as a possability.
Christ another year of "should never have come back" "he's got the club in his soul" debates between us all. Either way lets see some real money from these owners then.
Out of the three options above I'd have to go for Martinez.... Jesus how the mighty have fallen. Get this one wrong and Didis predictions from this morning could well become reality. Serious title contenders soon? Or mid table mediocrity for a decade?...Let the owners decide (despite admitting to knowing nothing about the sport) Can't wait
