John Terry simply must play at EURO 2012. He is top of the English Defence League after all. And yet his inclusion has sparked a public outcry. Yes Rio Ferdinand is perhaps over the hill. But surely a big factor in his exclusion and possibly enforced International Retirement is the classic âJohn Terry racially abused my Brotherâ Factor. The FA have chosen ex-skipper Terry over ex-skipper Rio; as if John Terry was ever going to be black-listed? Continued at... http://sendawaythetigers.co/2012/05/16/john-terry-whiter-than-white-2-2/
It's a strange one. John Terry was stripped of the England captaincy for the allegations against him, Fabio Capello resigned over it. He's now back in the squad, although Gerrard is the captain, you have to wonder why the FA have changed their stance. It appeared they were suggesting that Terry was guilty - there was no other reason to strip him of the captains armband otherwise. Woy has stated that Terry is "innocent until proven guilty" and so he should. Ferdinand simply isn't fit enough to cope with tournament football - Sir Alex stated that Rio was unable to play two games in a week because of his back injury. Simple really.
Due to his inclusion, I am now choosing to support anyone-but-England, i think they have a MASSIVE chance of winning it and are fairly likeable compared to the others in the tournament so it's a win-win And yes, I know, i am a bit of a glory hunter.
