as an arsenal fan i must say its quite a disgrace the way managers are sacked these days. One and a half years is nothing.
Has he gone as well?! Haven't seen anything on the Liverpool website to confirm this and when looking at the staff list on the website (http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/team/first-team) Kenny's name has gone but Clarke's is still there as first-team coach.
shame if true hardly any chance of any manager with vision coming to the fore in that case. People should learn to think long term rather than simply short term.
BBC website says "First team coach Steve Clarke, who was Dalglish's first major appointment on taking charge, has resigned in a show of solidarity with Dalglish" within the main article on Kenny. Guessing that's correct but maybe wait and see if it's confirmed on the LFC site.
Whats with all the doom and gloom? This is ridiculous. Rafa Benitez and Pep Guardiola are all available and could love a project.
I think this is exactly what they are doing. Kenny is what, 61? He was always a short term gap with the sacking of Hodgson and rumours are the the owners are now looking at someone younger (40 something) with a view that they can be there 10+ years and build another legacy.
i think people underestimate the influence of rvp. Though i feel had keny been given more time you would have definitely made top four. Now its dependant on who comes in. whoever does he might make top four but it still doesnt make the sacking right
If Guardiola comes to Liverpool i'll run round my street naked. That's how confident I am that he will not be there.
I would love to see Pep at Liverpool. Young, ambitious, prooven quality. I am not so sure about Rafa coming back.
If this laughable rumour about Martinez is true, he will be like Woy and have absolutely ZERO honeymoon time. Henry tweeted a very ambiguous "NO" when asked about Martinez.... so there is hope that this is just that freak Dave Wheelan and the manc media having a laugh, by talking about us having a small team manager.
Ah right, cheers! He's worked well on the defensive side of things with our defence the season just gone being the joint-third best in the league. Shame to see him go as well. Looks like lots of appointments are going to made this summer. Gonna need at least a manager and a new assistant. Might bring in a director of football and a head of sports science and we are gonna need a new head of communications after Ian Cotton left recently.
Expected it but still came as a shock. This year has been a disaster on and off the pitch. Still feel Sorry for him though as he's one of us. Deep down always thought he shouldn't have been given a contract, because if it went wrong, it would leave a bitter taste and a tarnished reputation. Sad.
Exactly, who is going to advise them on an appointment? They have sacked everyone with football knowledge at the club. They have to appoint a DoF sharpish
Bit harsh calling it a disaster...the Suarez thing is massively over criticised by the media, although some parts could have been handled better, it wasn't as bad as it actually was. The football wasn't as bad as made out either, he was just let down by some signings and at times didn't get the luck or results we often deserved. But not far off with a few more signings! Has kenny left the club in all capacitys now? Or will he be involved in some way as an ambassador?
