AC - 4 goals in 35 games in the league this season (as a centre forward)

DS - 11 goals in 28 games (often played as a winger as well)

One goes to the Euros and the other is on a retained list/standby.

It hasn’t taken Roy very long to drop his first major bollock has it? England are going to struggle anyway to score goals but leaving a player who can score and is blessed with real pace out in favour of a stiff pile of **** is simply beyond belief.

BTW, Danny Wellbeck has 9 goals in 30 games but has been out injured for the last couple of weeks and may well break down at the tournament (he seems quite injury or niggle prone to me) has been included. I like Hodgson but he isn’t going to win friends by including the likes of Carroll imo. Peter Crouch has 10 goals in 32 games and a great England record of 22 goals in 44 games and also isn’t even considered?

Go figure that one out for me someone please?

Sturridge has been awful for most of the season he is selfish and welbeck is better....

Carrol is a big lad who puts his body around alot he will trouble the smaller nations just like crouch did and wont paly against the bigger nations

Downing infront of Johnston aswell not to mention Johnson infront of Micah Richards.
Feels like Capello's still in charge!

    Don't agree mate.

Sturridge for me has a lot more potential and is very raw. He has been played out of position a lot when he is naturally a centre forward and has been playing in a team who have had an off-season by their standards. He showed what he can do at Bolton and at the start of the season. I would love us to put a 15m bid in for him to test the water.

Would still take Crouch over Carroll any day of the week.

Why only 4 strikers, 1 of which in banned for 2 games, surely one of the midfielders could have dropped for Sturridge, im really concerned about what tactics he is thinking about :(

For me its very simple, Hodgson was never going to please everyone so I will go with him until I see his team in action.

Correct, he cant be judged on this competition alone, he has been balancing two jobs, has not had time to get up to speed on the England thing yet. he needs time.

Id have taken Sturridge and Carroll and left Downing at home.

    ............ ..........Hart...................
    Johnson...terry....cahill.....cole
    ...............Parker..Barry.............
    Walcott......Gerrard........Young..
    ...................Rooney..................

Would go with Carroll until Rooney is available. I think Carroll will cause chaos for euro defences and he was starting to play well recently

I'd pay 15m for sturridge any day of the week, once he learns to pass he's going to be a top top player.

What have we seen for the last umpteen tournaments? Players in form being overlooked in favour of big names. Hodgson has gone halfway to eradicating that. Carroll is in awesome form, even if that form has only lasted 5 or 6 games. Sturridge is selfish. My only problems with his squad are Richards and Holt's exclusion, and Downing's inclusion. The rest are in mainly decent form. Also, few other countries have the weapon that is Andy Carroll. It gives us something totally different. On the managers back already, jeeez. No wonder we do so **** at tournaments when people like you write this sort of **** before a game has been played.

Not saying we would Conor mate, he wouldn't come anyway. I don't think we will spend 15m on any one player tbh.

Agree, but decisions like this and the exclusion of Ferdinand could be his death nail with your lots press. IMO England have got a wealth of talent available which makes me envious but you also seem to have a problem with clicks (Terry/Cole/Lampard etc...) which will always cause problems and take a strong manager to control.

It was more hypothetical but if we had the money then sure, why not?

If you think he's not a 15m pound player then i'm not the one to be laughed at my friend.

This in abundance - how he **** we can take Downing over Hoilett and others is shocking, Ferdinand any day of the week over Terry but its all down to opinions and mine is that i would take Carroll over Sturridge and Richards over Johnston. Like I said opinions and they will vary.

Hoilett is Canadian. He can't play for England.

Crouch is better than Carroll. And another question off the subject is why was Barton not arrested last sunday for GBH on two players?.

If that was to happen then they would be players locked up every week, Sessegnon would have been arrested against Newcastle, yes it was poxy but he still connected so that is an assault.

    Bad road to go down.
