Not too sure I see much difference anymore. Neither have given us a stadium. Neither spent any money (net) Both sacked managers the supporters backed. H&G gave us Roy. FSG are giving us Martinez. YANKS OUT
A valid point, AS it stands the only thing separating them AT THE MOMENT is that FSG say all the right things and have a good track record with red soxx. You're right though, nothing yet on stadium and only 23£m net spend on players plus sacking of Kenny after just one season, hope they don't start a revolving door like Abramavich has
They could do a lot more damage in that time just as H&G did. I think the difference between the two is the debt or lack of but as for doing the right thing at the moment I see no difference between them. Shocking way to go about it.
I won't turn on the owners.......yet. Kenny should of had another season, everyone associated with the club accepted that we had improved but not as we should of. Ultimately, our finishing let us down but I fear the biggest issue that the owners had were off the field and poor PR........we have to accept that without top brands sponsership, brands that do not want to be associated with poor PR, we will go nowhere fast. I'm afraid that when it comes to this, kenny didn't help himself really.
I'm just trying to see the positive side of it, had Kenny stayed on and produced similar results then it could have been just as damaging. I guess we will never know. With either Kenny or someone else as manager, it could have swung both ways.
What? They waited on Hodgson, bets were out and everything on who would be next after Rafa, how do you know they have not had someone lined up? I thought Liverpool was keeping everything indoors and it seems everyone wants to know every little bit about what is going on. I thought Kenny showed us that we keep our business private these days. A lot of the same people on here are going off on this when a week ago they were acceptable to a change. Let's have this summer show the intent. If we get a manager that might not cut it and budget that looks shoddy, no real players of class coming in, then ya let's ahve a word. As far as the stadium goes, if they don't have anything concrete, why just throw nonsense out there? Don't we get pissed at the media when they do that but we want some sort of false hope with a stadium only for it to be rubbish? We haven't got a new manager yet and many are already sharpening the pitchforks. I agreed that we should have given Kenny another year but when you want top 4 and it doesn't quite come, results can get looked at. The fact that kenny says the Carling cup was more important than what we did in the league probably was a warning mark, and the Suarez affair might have had something to do with it? Not sure, but we shouldn't speculate too much on it. Kenny said they went about it the right way, which was good to hear.
As big a summer coming up for Liverpool that i can remember in our recent history...!!! A new manager, a new stadium, transfer budget, who goes or stays, media improvement, have to get top 4 next year the list can go on and on... These Yanks seem to be out on there own now as Kenny helped to bring in Roy, then they gave the job to Kenny to only get rid of him... So who do they go to for advise now...?? Massive massive summer...
Two things though mate firstly the way they have gone about it and secondly how long does the next guy get? Its extremely rare to get instant success in any sport but this is just ridiculous to be going onto our 3rd manger in 2 years when for the previous 30 years we've only had a handful. We have become just like evry other club. A dark dark day.
The difference between the cowboys and FSG is currently that FSG did actually pay a lot to clear out debt, even if they haven't worked out much of their own cash on players yet. Had FSG lined up a replacement while Kenny was still manager and appointed them today, we'd have all been criticising them for doing it while Kenny was still in the job. They've gone about this the right way, even if it's not necessarily the right thing to do.
Liverpool are now without a manager, assistant manager, CEO, DoF, head of sports science or head of communications. In my book thats more than enough to warrant serious questions about their ability and willingness to run a football club
Begining to question FSG, are they too cut throat? There seems to be no consideration for continuity.
This is my point from earlier Carra... The management have some very big decisions to make but they will only struggle if they dont have anyone to guide them... Who is at the club to guide them towards the right choice...? We have to go with them but at the moment this club of ours is drifting...
