yesterday was ****e to say the least, but apart from the arsenal game so has the last 6-7 games.

defence is weak, but midfield is more of a problem, and the 3 main culprits are, muntari, sess and jordan (no matter how long ive defended the lad, somethings not right).

surely bruce can see he can't persist with 3 out of form players across the middle,
is it time 1, 2 or all 3 were given a rest, but who do you replace them with?
sure elmo could do jordans job,
what about sess and muntari, is it steed or bolo.
or are we going to continue till the end of season believing they will come good.

out of the 3 i may be tempted (at a push) to give sess a bit longer,

it may be worth a shot to have the 3 on the bench, so they realise they are not automatic choices,

i havn't got the answer, but bruce best have, and have it sharpish

I'd be going with Bolo, Steed, Cattermole and Sess on Saturday.

Muntari and Jordan are not worth a place, at least Sess has a bit of spark on the ball.

    We're in a state.

was thinking sess, bolo or steed, catts, elmo

bit of pace on the wings, catts passion, and the experience of an older head.

think this is the first time we've both agreed to drop jordan, as we've stuck by him all along

I'd go with that mate, Jordan and Muntari should not play.

They probably will though, which is pathetic.

For me, but hey, what the **** do I know, wanted Henderson on the wing, well that helped a lot. Back to the plot, I think I would look at who I want in then see who goes out.

For me first back in is Steed because he does keep the ball, tackles back and can create chances. Sess I would stick with but on Saturday he needs telling, up against WBA so no excuses, work your socks off and create or out you go. I also dont have a replacement for Catts so he is in, thats 3 and for number 4 I its either Elmo or Zenden and I am tempted to go for Elmo.

Gordon is still only able to play from the bench but Ned is back, next problem is do we stick with Anton or Mensah, for me its Mensah, just.

So I would go, if fit,

    MIG
    NED...TURNER...MENSAH...BARDO
    ELMO...CATTS...STEED...SESS
    GYAN..WELBECK

Lack of steel in midfield but at least we should create chances.

Mensah has been truly awful recently.

I'd give Anton a shot with Turner, Turner will/should keep him right.

I'd go with your front 6 syd, we need a left back.

thats another one i dont understand, as pointed out during commentary yesterday,
if gordon is on the bench, he has to be fit enough to play, if not why is he there?
or is mig now no.1 in bruce's eyes?

cant say I would be upset with that mate, I like Bardo for his fight, mind that seems to be going missing now and Ned must come back. Would not say no to..

    ANTON..TURNER..NED..BARDO

I wouldn't play Turner, he's no where near fit as was blatantly obvious yesterday. Stick with Ferdinand and Mensah until Turner gets some training under his belt.

I think Tina will be ok by sat, he'll likely play 45 mins somewhere midweek.

****ing hell saturday is a must win now, but WBA are decent going forward, and we are cat piss at the back.

A stressful afternoon in the offing.

Dunno what you guys expected really. Muntari and Sessegnon are both brand new to the premiership and have only played something like 5 games here - ever. Like many foreign players, they probably need time to adjust to the very different style of play in the EPL. Dumping them into the first team and expecting magic improvements in place of your tried-and-tested EPL players was never likely to work, was it? It does happen, but it's rare.

Bruce even understood this at one point with Gyan, and introduced him slowly into games so he could get used to the style of play. With these two he just dumped them in and said off you go. Why? Desperation? Pressure?

Poor management imo. You guys are just lucky that Sess has managed to adapt to the style of play slightly quicker than some, otherwise you would have two flops on your hands to go with Henderson.

at the moment we have got two flops to go with henderson, hopefully they can turn their form around soon.

but as for all this time to adjust, different sytles of plays etc, its football not rocket science, they have been given a gift of being talented foorballers,
its 11 v 11 world over, maybe its down to pride and passion, they seem to do ok for their national teams and they dont play or train together very often

That's rarely how it works. Look at some of our players. Colo and Enrique. They SUCKED when they first came over (despite their big price tags) for well over their first season. However, Enrique is now a top class defender and this year, Colo has suddenly blossomed into a truly superb CB.

Players often speak of how the EPL is very different to how they played in their previous foreign leagues, and how it takes time to adjust. Players get very used to a certain style of play, and then when they come over here, their style and habits don't work so well any more. Some players also mention how much more physical this league is compared to others. That's another thing you can't just adapt to at the drop of a hat.

A few players slot right in comfortably. Most others, however, need to get used to it and re-learn methods/tactics/styles which, up to that point, had worked well for years.

Catts has been solid when fit and has played a key role in breaking up play in the middle, so I'd keep him on and he hasn't been sent off in ooh, ages now ...so his days of berserk, recklessness and ridiculous challenges maybe a thing of the past. I also think he may yet don an England shirt if he can pull his head in a bit. Henderson -dreadful, no other word would suffice other than adding consistent (as in consistently dreadful), 20 million is a total joke, we'd be lucky to get a bag of crisps and a mars bar for him atm. Muntari ...I reserve judgement, he was playing really well until he got injured against Liverpool. For me Meyler is the real deal, he was inconspicuous a couple of games coming back from injury last season, but once he got settled with a bit of first team action, he was a significant player - this season too, just as he was beginning to come good ...

But yes, drop them - AND PLAY BOLO FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!

(not convinced with Malbranque atm though)

Believe me, Bruce is a stickler for discipline and it's his way or the highway. Where did he learn his trade? Go figure ...and Craig was a naughty boy last week

(Da Silva, Angeleri ...no room for them anymore with one-chance-Brucey)

Gordon himself says if he had been an out player he would not make the bench but because he is a goalkeeper he can cover and would step in if needed. He cant play a full 90 minutes but if needed could play some part.

should have took wellbeck off, and put gordon in goal along with mig, probably wouldn't have made much difference.

is their a rule against such things? if not maybe bruce should adopt this practise after telling them to go and play for a 0-0

You may not have seen Spink these days commachio, he would be ideal in goal rather than coaching, not that quick but makes Bruce look anarexic, cant spell remember
