£2m is a lot to pay for two youngsters. Especially when one hasn't been on loan since 2010. Good luck to them but they won't be a patch on Chester or Evans
OMG, get over the Leicester obsession! Like it or not Pearson and Leicester are in a different league to us altogether when it comes to transfers. I expect big Nige to be looking firmly down at us next season from a very lofty position!
Are you serious? So we can't talk about the transfer dealings of a rival team in our division because it happens to be Leicester? Despite it being the only piece of transfer news today? It's hardly what I'd consider to be an obsession
I never made this thread cause it was Leicester, I made it because another club was buying from Utd reserves which we normally do....
Three things. 1. James Chester is better than all 3 combined and is still a HULL CITY player. 2. We did attempt to sign Richie DeLaet when Pearson first took over and backed out of the deal if anyone remembers! 3. It's going to be fun finishing above you again with a cheaper squad
What worries me about this is that implies that the relationship we had with Man U was because of NP and that Leicester (via him) are now in the front row for Man U youngsters, loans, and cast offs. (What ever happened to Manucho?)
Our new gaffer may not want unproven youngsters, bit too early to start worrying about a minor thing like that. Lets get a manger first
I see some people are still hung up on this manufactured rivalry with Leicester. The result last December ended any grudge i had with them. Plus, the fact we're better than them on merit as shown in our league standings. Don't get too hung up on them doing similar business to what we're trying to do. Paying £1million + for reserves is daft.
Dont think either would have improved us and do we really need them anyway.? NP need is far greater, imo.
De Laet is potentially going to be one of the best defenders in the Championship next season. Despite what others have said above I really rate him. Wasn't aware that we had interest in him before. Tried to buy him for City on FM and he never wanted to come either!
You appear to be getting Nigel Pearson mixed up with Steve Walsh. If Steve Walsh thinks De Laet is going to be good, then I'd be tempted to believe him.
De Laet has been ****e everytime ive seen him. He's never going to be anything special. I remember watching him at the KC when we stayed up and he was awful.
I thought De Laet would make good cover for both Hobbs and Rosey. So a little disappointed about that although it looks like they paid well above what we paid for our United kids. That Osbourne lad we were linked with would be able to do the same I think, and isn't he on a free? Although if Clark comes in I like the look of Jack Hunt at 'Udders for RB cover/challenge Rosie.
