Unfortunately, Gerrard as captain is BAD for our club if he returns injured or tired. Simple point. Nothing else to be made from it.
It makes no difference, It's already been said that regardless of who's made captain, Terry acts as the captain regardless. He is such a bad influence and a major downside to this squad,

Because it's an interesting discussion and I like discussing things? My bad... I rise to things which people either assume or missread from what I say. You responded to the posts (including mine) from the stance that I (we) weren't happy for him when this is simply not the case. It was a simple point thinking about the best interests of our club. Good for him, potentially bad for us.That's what I care about. That was all I was saying.
Very odd appointment imo. Hodgson will try to implement a system where every player knows and sticks to his position. Having Steven 'plays where he wants' Gerrard as captain is bizarre- should have been Lampard if it was just between the two.
Shocking decision to be honest! Has Hodgson watched any football this season? Would have been better giving it to Parker or Hart for me, Gerrard has been so poor this season I would have been suprised to see him start games let alone lead the side.
In my opinion if Gerrard wants a career anyway near the longevity of Scholes and Giggs this needs to be his last tournament with the England team. He needs to retire from international football after the Euros, its not like he is appreciated by the vast majority of England fans anyway
To be fair, Lampard has probably played better this season than Gerrard. Not sure he's quite as inspiring, although maybe he could rope his wife in to help (unless she's busy with Terry)
I agree but even Lamps has been nowhere near his best form of a few years ago and if Gerrard is fit I'm not sure Lamps will be in the team as we know the pair of them have never clicked. I can see both sides of the argument with regards to what's best for LFC etc but I have always believed he should have been the captain anyway and if it is what he wants as I'm sure it is then good luck to him. I hope he doesn't come back injured and you never know a good tournament and he might just come back full of confidence for pre-season with us
