Crouch should be going instead in my opinion, however I do not think it really matters too much because our chances of winning are so slim. From an outsiders point of view who do you think are the best English strikers?
Might not be a bad move. With the greatest of respect, it's not as if England are going to go there and play silky football so punting it high, Rangers style, to a big galoot might work for them.
Play to your strengths. We didn't win two world wars and one world cup by trying to be sophisticated continentals. They don't like it up em, you know.
Ok, it seems you're ignorant as far as football tactics go so i'll try and give you a simplistic breakdown. Sometimes, even a team like Barcelona cannot pass their way through a defence when it's well organised - think of the way Chelsea defeated them in the Champions League - so it's essential to have different options available to you. Andy Carroll offers a threat in the air yes, but he's actually quite technically gifted. 1) Play like Barcelona 2) Play like Stoke Gratis.
I agree there is no point trying to out play teams like Spain. The best way to combat them is by hoofing the ball up to the big man all game. Id have taken Crouch and Carroll myself, if we need a goal late on in a game imagine having the pair of them occupying both centre halfs, they would cause chaos
Spot on. Come on England, teach these continental ****ters how to ruffle a few feathers with the old "up and at em">
