Isn't it incredible how, in the total lack of knowledge, the press have consistently made things up?

Kenny may or may not stay on as manager at LFC but they have about as much idea as i do....so they speculate....again! It's little wonder that Kenny gives them short shrift; if he stays in a job they're going to look like total idiots.......again!

I'd like to see a league table of BS'ers or a correct % stats per journo; shouldn't everyone know who the lazy twats are?

What amazes me is that anyone believes anything reported by the rags, football websites, and worst of all twitter. Some people don't seem to have grasped the idea that plenty in the media have a hidden agenda...Kenny is no 'Arry Redknapp...he won't keep slipping the vultures bits of info to keep them happy so they in turn will continue to try and undermine him.

Like most cities Liverpool has always had a rumour factory of it's very own (called bitter blues) but anti social networking sites like twatter and facefook seem to have given some people the idea that because everyone says something's true then it must be gospel. It's like the daft old ****ers in any of 100 different boozers around town who'd swear blind that they have concrete proof from their mate who works with a guy who gets the bus into town with the best friend of Mrs Jones sister whos husbands cousin works in the ticket office three hours a week etc etc.

If anything happens the club will announce it. There is no source more reliable than the only source that matters <ok> and that is NOT someones window cleaner <whistle>

What annoys me most is that fans are getting stressed and demanding that the owners speak up. If the owners had to justify every decision they make because of some rumours on Twitter, they wouldn't get any work done.

And a lot of fans hated the fact that we weren't doing our business behind closed doors in the past few seasons, but now they're not happy because the owners are too quiet?

I'm always having a go at certain memebers of my family about this, they seem to base any opinion on what they have read in the rags. I try to have footy opinions on what I have watched and sometimes from what I have read in an article that seems well thought out but I avoid any of the rags.

All good points guys, haven't really got time to rant about the media but I will say believe nothing reported by it without quantifiable proof. There is very little real journalism these days.

Haven't really been on the internet or watched/looked at any news for the last couple of days. So, what's been said? Kenny still in Bluff country?

I've made my opinions of the press known on here many times already so I won't bore everyone by repeating them.
Suffice it to say I never believe anything I read until it's a fait accompli.

I hate the press as they are completely biased.

For example, Rafa Benitez missed his father's funeral to stay with the team and was called 'heartless' and 'cold' by Henry Winter for the Sunday Telegraph.

A similar incident occured with Tony Pulis but only this time, Henry praised Pulis for his loyalty to his team at a sad time.

Another example during the FA Cup Final on ITV. They did a piece on Suarez and mentioned briefly that was a good player but then mainly concentrated on the bad aspects of his game.

They then did a piece on Terry and did the opposite. Talked briefly about the negatives but then admired his ability to brush it off and perform on the pitch, making him look like a saint.

My gripe is why publicise the meeting between KK, SC and the owners but not provide any feedback?
Surely they know what would happen with these rumours.
Surely they would like to let their own fans know what was going on?

I've been a supporter of LFC for over 30 years, born and still live in Liverpool. Season ticket holder even though money is tight and I have to drive all over the country to get jobs.

I know they are most likely rumours but at the back of my head I still have a nagging doubt.

Can't the owners realise this and put an end to it?

There was a very good reason my 606 username was Mediakiller. Because I really wanted to.

I don't read the Independent anymore because of their Utd-loving journos but I went over after the FA Cup semi. Ian Herbert had written such a bile-laden rant at us that every single comment said he was bang out of order. I've never seen such consensus among footy comments before.

A recent Guardian article moaning about LFC's media responses said the Suarez teeshirts were worn after he was banned for 8 games. I mean FFS, it was only a few months ago.

Now I'm in a bad mood so thanks for that.

I know what you're saying but the owners don't need to justify themselves to people on Twitter. If they put to bed all the rumours on Twitter and in the papers, then they wouldn't have any time to conduct real business.

They are doing things behind closed doors which is the right way to go about it.

I think what we usually see from the General is his "good" mood.
    God help us now.:)

I always used to like The Independent but I don't read any of the rags any more- their standards are all so abysmal.
I hated Lawton long before his Suarez stance because he's just a bad writer in my opinion. Many times I've had to re-read some of his purple prose to try and decipher what he's actually said, and even then it wasn't worth it.

That's fine, they don't need to justify any decisions they make but at least let the fans know of any decisions made.

Everyone knows KK had a meeting, rumours are that he has left (most likely bullshit), but if the owners just release a press statement saying, all's well and dandy, season was disappointing but we and KK are still going in the same direction.

That would put all the rumours to bed. At least they owe it the fans.
Forked out £53 on a new liverpool top for my lad last friday (free warrior t-shirt worth £15) with Dalglish and 7 on the back.
Not complaining about name or number, would have still had it that way if Rafa/Roy was manager but me and kid would like to know what the hell is happening if any!!

I can understand the frustration but they may have simply not come to a decision yet, hence they haven't released anything.

A feature of their management so far is not rushing and making hasty decisions.

Obi-Wan had it right... "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy!" I'm sure he was talking about the press and media....

The thing you have to remember is that the press do nothing but lie and manipulate... and they are the pinnacle of media ethics! Compare that to Wikipedia, "News" websites and blogs, twitter and so on and so further down the levels of hell...

Someone posted a link to one of these news blogs, that came out and claimed Kenny was gone. A total fabrication, but IF it turns out that Kenny is going they are going to say how they were first, and therefore they are the best on the web. If it turns out that they were wrong, they make an excuse, and move on, and their stupid readership carries on reading the crap they type....

The sooner people comprehend that no-one ever prints anything you can trust, and simply stop paying money every day to support these people, the better. Newspapers should be a dead as the town crier, in the information age, but it takes generations to wean people off their traditions. I've never bought a newspaper in over 20 years. Think of all that money I have saved...
