Leaving Ferdinand out - presumably Terry is in. Interesting to see who he makes captain?

He'll make Gerrard captain. Have to say, leaving Ferdinand out and putting Terry in sends out all the wrong messages.

It says he's taking arguably the best english centre back to the euros and leaving behind a crock who is no longer fit enough for tournament football.

The best English centre back at winding up his teammates and causing squad disunity, or does your memory not stretch back as far as 2 years ago?

To be honest id have left them both at home along with Lampard, ferdinand's a crock and terry's too slow as was confirmed in Barcelona. Having said that other than Cahill i think we are struggling. All over-rated, all over paid and all not world class!!!!

Ferdinand has always been and will always be a liability. The only surprising thing about this decision is that Roy's been the first England manager to notice it.

I agree Ferdinand is crocked and should not be taken, but now is the time to let the youngster have a chance, by which I mean Smalling, Jones and Cahill.

Surely Carroll must go as well, he's been on great form this last month.

Considering what court case Terry is facing when he gets back - imagine putting Roy and Terry in front of the european media to complain about any incidents of racist chanting against England players.
For some reason Terry seems to be selected by Chelsea and England managers no matter what he does in his private life, seems to imply there is something going on behind the scenes. And would we want as captain of Hull a man who has affairs with team mates partners and has a racism cloud hanging over him - I wouldn't

I saw his potential team in the paper this morning, got to say there's some bizarre choices- Grant Holt and Matt Jarvis. Holt had a good year but there's better strikers surely, and Jarvis was in the Wolves team that finished bottom.

Not too confident with the inclusion of Crouch or Walcott either. Neither have had a great season, but always seem to get picked.

I'd take some of the youth players like Chamberlain.

Terry may well turn out to be a racist ****, but that doesnt take away from the fact he's an exceptionally talented defender and by far and away the best option we have available

I haven't seen any of the footage of the Terry/Anton Ferdinand, but Terry has denied the allegations. It is possible that he will be found not guilty.

You are innocent until proven guilty so why shouldn't we take arguably our best defender?

And Strov, I heard on the radio that Carroll is likely to be be included

I guess Terry can't help the fact that he's got the mug of an East End armed robber, BUT I don't think he's good enough these days.
Any one else you might think oh well maybe he's worth a place for his experience and he'll be a steadying influence on the younger players............ but he's not really the sort of role model you'd want is he?

Ferdinand is past his best, Terry is slightly better, but the Germans made him look incredibly ordinary in South Africa. I'd rather see us have Cahill, Jagielka, Jones and Lescott in there to be honest.

I (thankfully) missed the England v Germany match in South Africa due to being sat on the M62 because of someone threatening to jump off the really high bridge at Saddleworth. From the "highlights" I saw the Germans made our whole team look ordinary though

I would leave them both at home too when the final squad comes but to do that he would be leaving himself wide open for massive abuse when we fail as expected. Hodgson is a brave man to leave Ferdinand out giving that this overpaid wally will no doubt be in the media and tweeting to undermine the squad. Am glad Carroll has been picked and am hoping he talks Scholes out of retirement so he can share midfield pensioner duties with Lampard and Gerrard, alternate the three of them and you might end up with a world class player on the pitch at all times.

Is it just me as I could not give two hoots about England and won't even bother watching the European championships. It would be different if we had someone from Hull City playing for England . Not bothered about the champions league either .

I don't think it's just you Scarborough. I think it might be just you and Tickler though
