Giggs is clearly the best player over the 20 year period, and he is still there all the others were brilliant in there time, even better than giggs for that year/years. However giggs has it in terms of longevity
I'd give it to Giggs. Certainly the most influential player of the PL era. If not I'd go for Shearer, not least because he made a fool of the twat that is Roy Keane.

In a reasonable world, Matthew LeTissier would clearly win this award. Obviously he never won anything, and because he didn't play for Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal, a succession of idiot England managers failed to acknowledge his existence, but he really was "simply the best."
Who's the chump who had to take a walk the petulant Mr Keano. Big Al just swayed out of the way of his petulant little swing. I thought he always claimed he did a bit of boxing? Someone has had a right laugh with Keane when training him if that's the best he's got. He went for a slap, enough said really.
The incident irish refers to when he wound up Keane so bad he tried to slap him and got sent off. It was ****ing hilarious seeing him so enraged. Shearer did him up like a kipper, I think Keane admitted as much in his book.
Over the duration Giggs has been the most capped, won the most trophies etc but wouldn't be in the top 5 if it was just down to how good players were.

I suppose it depends how you look at it roy got sent off so I can understand his 'regrets' in his book However I do think shearer virtually **** himself I do believe though that shearer was one of the dirtiest players going. But (ala rooney at the moment with his tackles/swipes) got away with it Th elikes of keano and even barton can be stupid but wear their hearts on their sleeves, the likes of shearer are basically cowards and sly I rather have a barton who what you see is what you get, than a rooney who puts in a sly kick but then quickly 'apologises' as if to imply it was an accident TBH I used rooney here as I am a UTD fan and am not having a 'go' at shearer for the sake of it
Shearer was no coward but I'll give you that he was sly and dirty. He knew how to protect himself and give it out but lets face it he did get kicked from pillar to post on a weekly basis. People always have a go about him bribing the FA over Lennon. One Lennon deserved the kick in the head and who wouldn't get off with it if they could? I'd rather have a Shearer than a Keane or Barton type. Wearing your heart on your sleeve and getting all emotional just leads to your team being hampered. Its the same in management. Look at KK and Sir Alex. Sir Alex did him up like a kipper and simply played on his emotional side. The best in any sport tend to keep their emotions in check. Probably tells you how good Keane was that he got to the very top despite his red mist problems. I was at the game and Shearer didn't **** himself. Indeed I'm pretty sure he was smirking at various stages. He knew what he was up to, we'd took a late lead and he stopped the quick throw. As soon as Keane started to lose it he said something (still don't know what it was) and Keano proceeded to start throwing slaps about. If you're gonna get your marching orders for violent conduct, at least give him a proper smack.
So what? The ones he boxed could have actually not been boxers but in fact the best footballers of their generation or indeed girls.
