Extract......"........... ......Instead, Sunderland are interested in Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente, with O’Neill keen to stress to chairman Ellis Short he will need to spend big money on a centre-forward if the team are going to improve. Even then, the Spain international could be out of their price range given his excellent season for Bilbao, who beat Manchester United on their way to reaching the Europa League final last week......." More chance of me playing upfront for us next season than this lad, wonder if we will ever be able to attract players of the quality this lad has Are journalists just thick ***** like do they actually believe what they write or what? This lad is one of the best strikers in the world!!!!
funny retort to this rumor on one of the sites: So, just a run of the mill article about who Sunderland will get now Bendtner is off and y'know, you casually drop that Spanish chap Fernando Llorente in there. WHAT? FERNANDO LLORENTE? Yep, the main man in Athletic Club Bilbao's team, perhaps the best Spanish striker out there at the moment and he's ever-so-casually linked to Sunderland. The Telegraph seem to think the cost may be a problem, perhaps they mean the cost of paying someone to bang him over the head enough times so he thinks the red and white stripes of Sunderland are in fact Athletic Club. One day we'll get caught out and one of these rumours will happen, it won't be this one though.
Haha, all true...we'd have to sell most of the squad to get him, and then spin the kind of bullshit Boro did when they got Ravenelli and co.
Even if Llorente was a die hard mackem and would settle for 50quid a week wages to come and play for his team we still wouldn't be able to afford him like I said earlier do the journalists who write this actually believe it
Ha ha. This is hilarious. We'd have to sell the entire first team squad, drug him, remortgage the SOL, move the club to Milan/Madrid/Barcelona..., even to get him to talk to us. The biggest load of ****e I have ever heard, an absolute impossibility.
