Everything depends on whether Ade comes back. With him, the first 11 is solid. Without him, we need a striker who can do what he does nearly as well, or the team's likely to be toothless against teams that play negatively.

For a player who doesn't start, says he's dissatisfied and wants a move, Defoe sure scores a lot. I'd keep him. Nelsen seems like a useful reserve.

As far as who we sign: maybe it's most important to cycle in our young players as they're ready. Livermore made a big contribution this year, and I think 2-4 others will be ready next year.

Very possibly, especially if (god forbid) we end up in the Europa League, or if we have a good Carling Cup run. The reason he's been nowhere near the first team this year has been a legal issue, not a lack of ability. I think we will see him in the first team a little bit next year.

Has Hooper ever said why he has 88 on the back of his shirt? I'm surprised he's got away with using that number considering the Neo-Nazi connotations it has.

Hooper was with Spurs as a kid, but was let go at the age of 14. He trained with our centre of excellence for 7 years.

Really can't see us signing Del-Piero, even if he is a legend in Italian football

I can't see us signing him for a very good reason - he may be retiring this summer.

Agreed, I don't think we should, if we're to move forward, we need to be thinking forward, not just 6 months down the line

If we want to think six months down the line, that's what our reserves/academy side is for - for example, giving Coulibaly a run in the FA Cup and introducing him to the Premier League squad shortly after.

    Remy - £14m?
    Vertonghen - £9m?
    Hoilett - £4m?

So we're looking at £25/30m there. We could pretty much make that back from sales of deadwood - Pienaar (£3m), Bentley (£3/5m), Jenas (£5m), Bassong (£4m), Corluka (£6m), Gomes (£4m)???

We'd probably need to sign another keeper though if Gomes leaves, as I suspect he will.

Give Coulibaly a chance, for sure. Harry Kane too? And on the signings front, those 3 are pretty good, although I think we'll need a star striker from somewhere

Harry Kane isn't yet good enough for a top PL team, which we are. I think he needs a PL loan spell - we've seen how much it has benefited Walker and Caulker. Might work wonders for Kane too. Can see him going to Reading on loan.

Wouldn't be a bad shout. At least we're seeing some young blood with potential knocking around. With the new centre being built, it's good to see we've actually got some youth prospects rather than having to buy in absolutely everyone which is prohibitively expensive. Also, it helps fill our English players quota

Yep, very encouraging. There was a big gap after Ledders came through, but we're finally seeing some young talent come through. Some have been with us right through (Caulker), some have been signed at a very young age and blooded in (Bale).

We now have Caulker, Bale, Walker, Naughton, Livermore, Coulibaly, Smith and Kane, amongst others, all coming through with a potential of being first team regulars at some point.

Livermore should get a lot more first team next season, probably in both cups at least. Caulker will get the same , and more if he's at spurs not on loan. Naughton I'm unsure on. Smith is probably the weakest of these players so he may not ever establish himself in our team given the standard we're reaching now

Carling Cup, or God forbid, Europa League team?

    Cudicini
    Naughton Caulker Dawson Smith/Rose
    Livermore Sandro
    Dos Santos Carroll Townsend
    Coulibaly

I like the look of that! Solid back 4 (which could comfortably be mid-table in the PL), 2 fantastic holding midfielders which wouldn't look out of place in any team, then a young front 4 all with very different talents, but all talented none the less.

That's Tom Carroll BTW, the best English Carroll in the league. I definitely don't want us to sign Andy

That team is good, except Dos Santos will finally be on his way this summer I think

Stick Lennon in there then, I guess Hazard will take his place in the first team ;)
