The Scottish, Welsh and Republic of Ireland FAs have expressed an interest in hosting the 2020 Euros. The other bids so far are Turkey, and Georgia. Good chance of winning? If so, which stadia will be used

Fir Park in Motherwell is a definite <ok>

It's oft been said that it's playing surface is nigh on perfect.

The lack of large stadia sufficiently far apart would be a big problem. Georgia are very unlikely to get it though, due to them having NO stadia of merit. Turkey could do I guess

Euro 2000 was joint, so was Euro 2008, and Euro 2012 is. That's 3 out of the last 4. Admittedly it's never happened before that, but I think they'd rather more small countries got a chance to host it, rather than 1 large country

There's Murrayfield in Edinburgh and I think Aberdeen are about to start building a new stadium.

    Can't see it happening though.

Turkey only missed out on Euro 2016 by 1 vote, so they'll be favourites

possibly. Its for sale just now if you're in the market for a world class stadium complex.

Very true. The best watered playing surface in the country.

Platini said he'd back them, but only if they don't get the Olympics that year.

Did they not use sand last season to try and soak up the water? I'm sure Aberdeen did the same, their pitch was almost as bad as Motherwell's

Ofc Platini would say that, Wales, Scotland and ROI are quite close to England, and therefore he hates them :p Turkey would be the more sensible bid, but it'd be nice to have it in the UK. The games, whilst not in England, would feel like home games, and it'd be easy to go and see all the home nations play

Aberdeens ground has problems with little critters, super bugs per se, well that's what they say.

Wonder if any of them are free agents?

UEFA encouraged the bid apparantly but three bidders seems a bit much although there will be 24 teams in the competition by then..

The Aviva and Croke Park in Dublin probably. Glasgows three stadiums, the Millenium and an upgraded other Taff ground.

Is that enough stadia for a 24 team competition, unless it's over a greater time period?
