A lot of people say Holt could not cut it at international level. But what does that even mean? Considering the lack of English players in the EPL, is the EPL not international level?

Why is Euro 2012 any tougher than the EPL? Are Sweden and Ukraine prem quality? Maybe but top 6? nope, well if Holt can score agaisnt top 6 EPL teams then why not against the majority of Euro teams?

Holt has scored against some of the England defenders likely to be in the Euro squad, so does that mean those defenders are not good enough for England if they concede goals against the so called journeyman tyre fitter...?

Every Euro 2012 team is not Spain quality, a lot the players in the Euros are not EPL quality.

The EPL is the toughest league in the world, Holt has more than proved himself at that level. He's scored 15 league goals in an unfashionable team, imagine how many goals he could score with Rooney and Gerrard behind him...

Holt for Euro 2012 is just common sense.

Get Grant Holt on the plane.

Nice try, but sadly it's not fans of NCFC that need convincing.

The thread about Hodgson suggests there won't be too much tinkering with the squad that got us qualified - and we all know what that means <doh>

    Bloemfontein revisited, anyone <yikes>

Norwich fans a Stoke fan with my views..
My personal oppinion as a (neutral) where Grant Holt is concerned is..

It might be worth giving Holt his chance why? Well Bent is injured, Rooney banned for the first few games. Defoe not playing every week for Spurs.
So, we're short of guys who can finish and for a big guy he's proved he can do it in the EPL.

At Stoke we're saying the same thing about Crouch too! Why not take both? Although we play a different style too Norwich, you always play with two wingers..
Crouch thrives on winning anything decent into the box as does Holt. ... why not take both 29 goals between the two this season for no offence 2 so called unfasionablle teams is worth a try. The only difference Crouch has shown by his goals to games ratio for England as good as most others including Rooney.

Let's hope Woy gives them both a seat on that plane..

    Thoughts?

P.S. Well done a brilliant season for Norwich <applause>

Thanks mate, kind and sensible words from someone who clearly knows more about the game that most so called pundits and journalists <ok>

One thing I will pick you up on though, we most certainly do not always play with two wingers and in fact I'd have thought your use of wide men was more prevalent than ours?

yes, we rarely play with wingers. bizarrely, the media seem to think we do. maybe its because we scored so many headed goals. however, many of these have come playing a diamond where the full backs bomb on! i personally think england should play out and out wide men and stick holt up top in the absence of rooney - it might not be that pretty but it'll be effective. surely the whole point of the tournament is to try and win it, not impress people with pretty patterns across the midfield, especially as england aren't capable of doing that anyway!

Yes we would but either Pennant or Etherington have been injured for most of this season.. Only a handfull of games where they both started.
But, you do seem to get a lot of crosses into the box? Is this because your'e midfield will bomb forward too, and that is something we rearely do with only ONE winger.
Holt has scored some great goals I think? the majority from knock downs, which Crouch does brilliantly.

It's a difficult one but I don't think we can win the Euro's anyway so, why not try NEW player's and SOME experienced. Otherwise I think England will be standing still.

(edit) I forgot to add that.. both Holt and Crouch have a great first touch too. Which seem's to be overlooked by most fans on here.

Certainly not overlooked in Norwich I can promise you. Peter Crouch was not with us for many months but he will always be remembered for his contribution towards our previous promotion to the PL. Hard to believe a guy that tall and gangly looking could use his feet and body well but he did. I was pretty upset when we let him go at the end of his loan spell.

...and I can't believe he didn't win goal of the season either, that's a massive travesty if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, Cisse's effort was phenomenal, an absolutely unbelievable goal, but in terms of technique for me Crouch's was better all day long and is one of the best goals I've ever seen.

Then again it was all decided by those two muppets Hansen and Shearer within a matter of seconds and with no rationale behind the decision <doh>

Well we'll definitely have to disagree on that one fella. For me the way Crouch flicked the ball on, cushioned the return perfectly before shifting his weight and volleying into the far corner was some of the best technique I've ever seen.

I agree that Cisse's was also phenomenal, but on another day that could have gone anywhere whereas with the Crouch goal he always looked under control <ok>

hmm, maybe its cos i remember crouch trying something similar in a norwich shirt, may have been at walsall years ago, where it practically went out of the ground - maybe thats clouding my judgement! seriously though, you might never see another goal like cissé's again - you'll see more like crouch's <ok>

**** it, I'm not going to bother to watch. England will fail again, lots of hype, false bravado, kick and rush football, same old players doing the same old stuff.
I don't know about supporters of other clubs, but for me the Premiership this season has been absolutly brilliant, I've loved every minute of it, and I don't want it soured by watching a clueless load of has beens pretending to be proud to wear the shirt, and scraping a 0-0 draw against Luxembourg or some other nondescript footballing nation. WE ****ING WELL DESERVE BETTER!!!

PS: If Ferdinand gets selected the telly goes out of the window, ****ing useless tosser.

I think we should definitely agree on the best headed goal of the season, surely nothing has come close to Holty's equaliser at Anfield has it?

Pundits will try and get round that and convince the clueless top four supporting public that it was in fact Van Persie or Rooney! <doh>
