    Team News:

Southampton have no new injury worries ahead of Tuesday's clash , With a change of formation a possibility if manager Nigel Adkins puts faith in Jonathan Forte to start after his super-sub heroics vs MK Dons. Dean Hammond is currently on 9 yellow cards after his late booking for dissent on Saturday. Oscar Gobern returns after his three game ban following his red card at Bournemouth last month and Alex Chamberlain is still a few weeks from return after his injury sustained in the reverse fixture.

Charlton manager Chris Powell is expected to continue with the same starting X1 after their recent turn up in form of 5 points from 4 games. The Addicks are hopeful that former Saint Bradley Wright-Phillips will be fit for the trip to St. Mary's. The striker took his tally for the season to 21 with a goal in Saturday's 3-1 win over Leyton Orient but limped off late on with a slight ankle injury.

Fellow forward Paul Benson was also forced off in the closing stages but he was only suffering from cramp. Winger Scott Wagstaff and goalkeeper Rob Elliott also picked up knocks but managed to play the full 90 minutes and should be fine.

Johnnie Jackson is still out with an Achilles problem and Kelly Youga is sidelined with a knee injury.

    ----------------Davis------------
    -Butterfield--Fonte--Jaidi--Harding-
    -Forte--Stephens--Hammond--Lalllana-
    ----------Barnard---Lambert---------

    Form: (Last 8 games)

    Saints: WDWWWWLW

    Charlton: WLDDLLLD

Prediction: 2-0 Saints (Barnard and Butterfield).

Same atmosphere as Saturday and 3 more vital points to take us within 2 of Huddersfield.

I know you shouldn't change a winning team but i'd like to see,

    --------------- Davis------------------
    -Richardson--Fonte---Jaidi---Harding----
    -Guly----Stephens---Hammond--Lallana-
    ---------Lambert----Forte-------------

Bench - Bart, Butterfield, Martin, Chaplow, Gobern, Barnard, N'Guessan.

    Saints 4 - Charlton 2

    Lambert (2) Wright-Phillips (2)
    Forte
    Barnard

I'm going for a 2-0 home win, Lambert and Lallana
only changes i'd make is, Gully out for Forte and i'd rest Jaidi for Martin, with all the fixtures coming up.

I bet Forte doesn't start..he'll be used as an impact player for the moment. NA tends to stick to the tried and true to start.

This is the team I would like to see

    --------------- Davis------------------
    -Richardson--Fonte---Jaidi---Harding----
    -Forte----Stephens---Hammond--Lallana-
    ---------Lambert----Barnard-------------

Guly and Chaplow have both been poor since signing contracts and Forte obviously made a massive impact coming on on saturday and Stephens look assured and comfortable. However, I think Adkins will probably stick with the same side and use Forte and Stephens more as impact subs rather than starting players for now.

Hopefully we will have a good first half for once but I think we will be nervy again and I can see us going in at half time behind again. However, I think we will win 3-1. Hopefully we will be able to recreate the same atmosphere we made for the last half hour against MK Dons which should spur us on to an important 3 points.

Guly is like Waigo in that he's so far ahead of our players (bar Lallana) in terms of vision and skill that he's on a completely different wavelength to most of our team.

Indeed, he does have bad games where his decision making is poor and his shots don't come off. He has obvious talent but does blow hot and cold, but when he blows hot, boy is he HOT.

    Nice Match thread Saint <ok>

Great to see members gettin the forum going!!

Looking at your team selection: Personally I agree with it, spot on!

Prediction: 2-1 Saints (Think this is a tough one, BWP could be a pain in the ass against us)

My Prediction for the match is Saints 3 - 1 Charlton with Lambert, Hammond and Forte to score for us and BWP for them!

I am of the opinion they will come down and park the bus. Cannot see any high scoring game. So will predict a 1.0 to Saints

I notice on these threads recently a certain degree of growing animosity toward Chaplow. Personally I think that is misplaced.

Chaplow is about the hardest working player we have and covers so much ground forcing opposition players into errors and quick balls. The issue I believe we have is with Hammond. I just don't think he's been that good and his rack of yellow cards is perhaps testament to that?

I believe where the issue lies is that Chaplow is having to cover some of Hammond's position too. If you look at when Chaplow was playing with Morgan, you will see his record and performances were much better.

Am agreeing with you a lot today. I think they'll play defensively, but our players owe us a couple of early goals to settle the nerves. Another game like Saturday and half the crowd will be hospitalised.

    Morning All

Saint_Lambden, totally agree with your team selection and score prediction.

Atmosphere wise, more of the same please plus plus plus!!! lets really get behind the boys for our last few home games COYR

KSFC, just a thought , I would take it as read, that whoever puts up the "next match" thread, should always be a sticky, so that we don't get loads of different threads about the same (like on the old 606). this forum is sooooo much better than the old one, great members talking sense, having a laugh, good banter almost self policiing itself along with our two great volunteer mods. Long may it reign!!!<ok>

    Tuckshop , Morning!

Good suggestion!! So going forward whoever creates the next 'Saints vs ....' thread (Pre- Match Thread) will have a sticky attached asap by myself or Beddy. Saves repeatative threads (as Tuckshop has said)

Therefore all build up.. to the game / during & after the game can all be put on one thread! <ok>

Oh Fran......don't be upset because we are agreeing........I am an agreeable chap....just ask the others......(now if that is not an invite to all my enemy's I don't know what is.....<laugh>
On another note I am agreeing with you about being hospitalised (told you I was agreeable)......It's a good job I can type as I am just about getting my voice back from Saturday. Mind you my wife says she has had a smashing weekend, not having me answering back. So I suppose it did someone some good.....<laugh>

Agree with all of that Nick.
What we've all got to remember is that non of us are perfect, we all have our good days and we all have our bad ones. Its just so frustrating when you see the same player making a missed timed tackle or selling a colleague the odd hospital pass.

As for the Chappers/ Spider partnership, have always said thats the best partnership IMO. I know others will say different. Thats the beauty of being a supporter, we all have our own oppinions of who should play and where, bodes for good discussion/debate.

Morning tuckshop..........I don't know if you have noticed we have been putting a sticky on next match threads probably since the beginning. What we don't want is having people compete to put match day threads up so that you have two or three going at once. So they get earlier and earlier. For me and I guess for Kingsland, we need to know from you guys some sort of guide line as to when you would like to see these things posted. Say Wednesday for a Sat match, maybe a Sunday for a Tuesday Match. What is your views out there?

I would be interested in your guys thoughts aswell to when these threads should be posted too - well remembered Beddy!

Following on from there , should anyone want to do a pre-match thread and unsure how to add pics , change fonts sizes / colours, add links etc ....

Just drop me a PM - Happy to help you guys out to get it started! <ok>
