Has to be Germany & England for me of course. Favorites on the title have to be Spain, Germany and Netherlands (in this order). So June will be yet again a fine month for watching international football.

I'm a firm hater of the English national team. I won't go into details as I'd go off on a long rant but all I'll say is the media are one of many reasons why I don't. The ignorance, delusion, arrogance etc.

I won't forgive the media Castigation of a 21 year old foreign boy who had lost his father less than a year ago after the 2006 WC and their attempts to exile him from the country. Using him the scapegoat for the actions of their prodigal son.

Nor will I forgive the hounding of David Beckham after the 1998 WC which resulted in death threats and blighted his early career. Same with David Seaman ala 2002 WC.

I can't think of another nation that continually singles out players after failings at major tournaments as often as this nation refusing to accept they simply aren't good enough. In fairness the failure to qualify for Euro 2008 with the so called "Golden Generation" has meant the media have been more contrite and realistic as have pundits etc.

The booing of Ashley Cole, Terry and Lampard at England home games after the World Cup was enough to completely ostracise me from the whole idea though, football simply is too tribal <ok>

What!!! This country was overun by them. England harboured your King, protected your Grandparents, freed you to your oil and fish prosperity. And you have the ingratitude to support the occupier.- Are you Quisling ?? <doh> Come on England!

Ohhh my god, that old story again after almost 70 years. The Norwegians that I know of are very bright people, there may be some exceptions though.

<laugh> Boring? What does that make England? Depressing, bordering suicidal...

They might be knocked out, but it won't be by you <laugh>

Now go home and practise those penalties ;)

You can still get an outstanding 9/5 on france to top England's Group D!

I have backed that, and really cant see England bettering them.

Although I am English, and would like to see them win the thing - I'm more ambivalent then ever before.
