Afraid I disagree again. Goebels was no more than a clever ad man. Much in the same vein as ogilvy (dove soap/moisturiser), Saatchi (labour isn't working) and bernbach (Vw lemon/think big). Fair to say he knew advertising/propaganda but I dont see it as genius.
Yes Disco I agree in fact. Goebells was not in fact a genius but he did recognize the stupidity of others so he could instruct Hitler just to repeat the same message over and over
Must be all the supplementary vitamins they have to take. Leonardo was also supposed to be a homosexual but as it cannot be proven then how do they know so much about this very secretive man. Omnivores prosper in the same way as vegetarians
The truth: Einstein was only a vegetarian in his last year of life - all his productive work was done when he was not a vegetarian. Supposed evidence that Pythagoras was a vegetarian comes from a few lines in Ovid's 'Metamorphosis'. It is likely that IF he was vegetarian, it was again probably only later in life. Hitler was not a vegetarian or a genius, and his doctors ONCE put him on a vegetarian diet when he was ill. Stephen Hawking is definitely not vegetarian. I don't know where these myths come from but the internet propagates them. But don't let the facts get in the way of a good discussion eh?
Yes it's true that Einstein was only veggie for last year but theoretically he realised vegetaranism was the best way for the planet. There are several articles linking genius with vegetaranism ps a lot of geniuses are bonkers as well.
Hitler has only got one ball, The other is in the Albert Hall His mother, the dirty bugger, Chopped it off when he was small. She threw it, into the apple tree The wind blew it into the deep blue sea Where the fishes got off their dishes and ate scallops and bollocks for tea
.....Moi? embarrassing myself.....? Nah..!.read back a bit I predicted somebody would pick up an "argument" and run with it using the ubiquitous bad language...My little piece to you was meant as a little cameo developing the humorous elements of this type of thing... ie the swearing and the purile comment based on half baked notions or ill considered judgement.... Hitler and vegetarianism is a bit "Passe" in terms of historical research .... I wouldnt get involved....Lived in Germany for many years....drowned myself in lots of historical stuff when I first lived there.....then you tend to put it down after a while....If you havent read it William Shirer`s Rise and fall of the Third Reich...is a standard...not without its own criticism of course......means youve got to be able to read tho`.....and not solely computer crap....
You seem to be picking a fight - erm "witless bastard" and with this post, implying that you are well read and those that use the internet are not ... I think you'll find that the Goebbels controlled the media very tightly and attempted to give him a pure cultured image based on denial of life's pleasures (possibly attempting to create an ascete Gandhi-like cult image and status) - no ciggies, booze, bonking or meat. He he ate meat by the bucketload, he also drank wine, had shagging mistresses and definitely did so with two functioning testicles (it was British propaganda that suggested he didn't). He was, however, a non-smoker and believed it was detrimental to people's health. As for being a genius, well, he was certainly quite clever and a gifted orator ...
.....Once again.....not picking a fight at all....if you read what I said earlier...I predicted the phrasing of the thread would bring about the type of comment I wrote to you and made it outrageously filthy! I asked the originator if it was about Hitler in the first place ! I asked if it was a good idea because we might get a repeat of the Religion debacle ...(and you seem keen on emulating that by the way) That was the joke full of vox pop swearing!......hence I prefaced the comment of "here we go again"..........You dont sound interested in looking back a bit???....Shame really its a pre requesite for being a historian....
