It's a pain when the boot is on the other foot hey?

You don't mind giving it were the bigger club when unsettling players from clubs such as ours and this is the same scale as City coming in for your players.

He was accused of leaving for the money, to which he obviously was going to reply that he was leaving for more trophies. Where his priorities lie between the two is difficult to tell because he's got both. Maybe at times he hasn't reacted the most professionally to the jibes he gets from your fans but ultimately he doesn't have an awful lot to answer to as far as I'm aware, unless I've missed something and he committed himself Arsenal long term before leaving or criticised Man City for manufacturing success.

Keep up soft lad, this isn't about City or them buying players. Reading comprehension. If Walcott or The Ox turned around and said Southampton is ****, then we'd be talking about the same subject. Use your loaf.

I know it must hurt to be on the receiving end of such a comment, but everything he says there is correct. The man owes you nothing, and yet your fans slate him at every possible opportunity. In fact, when there isn't an opportunity to slate him, you make one.

Agreed. The undeniable fact is that some fans of all clubs like to give players the most hideous abuse but if the player gives anything back (even in far more toned down words) these same fans start getting all sensitive and sanctimonious.

Its true those in the lime light should be more restrained, eg there is no excuse for a player reacting to abuse on the pitch eg Adebayor running the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of us (Cantona being the worst example of reacting on the pitch).

The bottom line is those abusing the players are the same ones lining the players pockets through their season ticket, sky subscription etc....the smugness that people like Nasri display in the face of the abuse stems from this fact.

His dig at the Arsenal players is uncalled for but some of the crap he's had to deal with from the likes of fringe players like Frimpong has been outrageous.

This is an article written earlier in the season....i cant find much fault in his assessment of the situation at Arsenal though I agree he is concealing the primary reason for moving (ie money but no one ever admits to that)

Both players left us thinking they would go on and win things with Arsenal and to let's say better themselves, Nasri has done the same thing with City as he wants to win titles and champions leagues.

He is wrong to come out with such comments but how often do we see this from players trying to get a move to other clubs Ronaldo springs to mind!

The fact is that currently Arsenal are a top 4 side but only a side capable of finishing 3rd or 4th unfortunately due to Citys and Chelsea's money and also Manure's ability to never fall behind no matter how old their players are.

If RVP leaves in the summer and considerable money is not spent you'll be like Liverpool happy to settle for Europa league.

Same thing was said when Vieira left...same thing was said when Henry left...same thing was said when Fabregas left...at some point football fans need to start seeing patterns.

Campbell maintained all along that he'd sign a new contract with us and also said he'd never play for Arsenal as even if he left he'd still be "Spurs". In the end he went back on all of his words, joining our biggest rivals for free.

If Nasri did some of those things I'd be more sympathetic to you.

You have a fair point there Ghost however how long can you keep doing that for?

I have all the time in the world for Arsenal they play football the right way and some of their passing and moving is breathtaking.

However you are fast becoming a poor man's Barcelona and a feeder club to these arseholes with more money than sense.

I hope you guys can get back to your former glories of a few years ago but how can you compete against what is happening currently? And especially with idiots like Nasri coming out in the press and talking your great club down?

It doesn't have any quotes from him and only suggests Wenger felt he could convince him. It also suggests that you were going to bid for Samba and Downing so it's not exactly a well informed article either.

True, but from the point of the view of the here and now Man City are going for the title whilst Wenger seems to be content with top 4. If Man City settled for second best than they wouldnt be going for the top players....unlike us who want to be prudent and protect shareholders wealth whilst rinsing the fans with the highest season ticket prices.

If we focus on history then ofcourse the likes of Liverpool would be up there. However, from the point of view how long since the last time a club won the league I dont think Liverpool can compete with City on that stat.

Although its not nice hearing it (and I admit he is not being entirely professional by stating the obvious and rubbing it in)...he is never the less telling the truth.

I don't think Nasri ever said Arsenal were ####. If Saints fans were constantly berating Theo and Alex for leaving Southampton, I wouldn't be surprised if the former also made comments explaining why they left.

    Not true.

Nasri said in early 2011 that he wants to see investment in the squad before he commits to us.

Agreed....but even if he did vow to sign a contract and then did the opposite so what? So there are greedy footballers out there...does anyone actually think that player wage inflation would have reached to the likes £200k a week if footballers, in general, weren't greedy "so and so"s. Adebayor, Nasri are no different (please dont mention Cesc because he's hardly a pauper at Barcelona).

We've been spoilt by all of the early success Wenger has brought us in his early tenure. After 7 barren years and seemingly getting no closer to winning anything, it feeling a lot worse when top players leave us to go to better clubs. After all, at one point we were one of those better clubs! Most Arsenal fans need to come to the harsh realisation that we are no longer the force that we once were. We still play good football, admittedly not as good, but still good nevertheless and we've qualified for the Champions league again. It's just amazing how Wenger's kept us qualifying year after year despite losing top players year after year....
