Football Manager and life long Leeds fan Dave Penney reckons Paul Green could be a big hit at Leeds should he join. The Republic of Ireland midfielder learned his trade under Dave Penney during Doncaster Roversâ turbo-charged rise from the Football Conference up to the old Division Three just under a decade ago â and the ex-Rovers chief insists the Pontefract-born player would prove an excellent acquisition for United. Things have gone a little quiet regarding Joel Ward, looks like its D-Day today.... There have been quite a few rumours regarding a parting of the ways between Warnock and Bates. Personally, I believe Warnock is the kind of person that would just up and leave, should he not be happy about something, agree ??? Who would we prefer to go up in the play off final, West Ham or Blackpool?
Morning - Will feel much more comfortable about everything should we acquire at least another two players this week.
Morning all We will get Ward according to a bloke who is pretty close to the players at Portsmouth & even told me about Pearce before it was common knowledge, so I am confident he will sign up I want Blackpool to go up but West Ham will surely be a title contender next season again if they lose out, so maybe its better for us to get rid of the Hammers? Nah, I'm sticking with Blackpool
Morning Bucks, bit early for you mate Its West Ham for me, they deserve it more, and they have beaten Blackpool twice this season... Let hope your sources are reliable fella
why do west ham deserve it more? they blew it big time...Blackpool for me...hope they get another crack at the big time..
I usually just do a bit of mod work in the morning, cruising the boards making sure everything is fine, but I thought I'd join Ristac Your good self & cosmic at the breakfast club this morning Not so much of a source as my work mate is friends with a Physio who is pretty close to the players
I don't really have a preference to be honest. Don't want either to go up but if I HAD to chose one I think it'd be blackpool. Didn't use to dislike West Ham particularly but something about this season has made me dislike them. Blackpool aren't a good enough club to be in PL though, I'd prefer if we got all the proper clubs back in the PL Theres a lot of mixed emotions about Green though isn't there. A lot saying he is quite average and a lot saying he would be pretty decent, all I have seen of him was miss an open goal on the last day of the season
Morning Josh, hope your well I dont know much about Green to pass judgement but he's certainly dividing opinion. Quite a colourful midfield we could potentially have, GREEN BROWN & WHITE Could do with a mr PINK in the holding DM role, toughen us up a bit
Definitely Blackpool for me. Big Sam arrogantly booked his ticket for the boxing in Vegas on the day of the play off final, thinking West Ham would have secured automatic promotion. Also too many Hammers live near me, and they're mouthy sods!
Afternoon all, Purely from a financial perspective, I'd like to see Blackpool go up. I have the feeling that if the Shammers stay down, there's a good chance they'll go into financial meltdown & have to radically change their team (and probably not for the better). Have to say that I'm quite desperate for a couple of signings this week. I notice that Warnock is on record as saying 2 or 3 of his targets have not yet been touted by the speculating press/public. Wonder who they can be? From abroad, perhaps?
Blackpool please!!! Love to see Gold and company stuck with yet another club in meltdown after taking Brum to the brink. West Ham will struggle financially if they fail, and a number of their overpaid wonder boys will be sacrificed. Wonder how Sam will cope managing a team shorn of quality and no money to spend. Also love to see Holloway back in the Prem giving all the glory boys what for....love his interviews Oh, and Hammers were easier for us than Blackpool
At the end of next season, with Holloway sacked at Blackpool for not delivering, can we please have him?
Afternoon All, Blackpool for me, they've just gone about their business with little fuss, unlike the Sam Allardyce Media Circus. If Wet Sham fail their finances are going to be squeezed considerably, they won't be able to go through another season with a squad that size and such a large wage bill. Additionally Old Red Nose at scum will be without his **** buddy (excuse my language) and yes man. Does Allardyce bend over straight away when he meets Fergie?
Trevor Birch on Ward--------âIt is not necessarily going to be Leeds. He has met a few other clubs in total and has been talking things over with them. We are waiting to see what the outcome will be.â
Warnock has today admitted we are likely to be outbidded (on wage) for a transfer target.....by charlton.
