Of course we will. Every City fan has been through all this at least once. It will happen again. In four months, we will all be asking who this Nicky Barmby is as he lines up as a Director at Ull Eff See anyway.
Unfortunately not what with Uni (feels like the 1000th time I've mentioned this ) Should hopefully still make it to at least 10 home games, along with the Blackburn, Boro, Wednesday, Leeds, Barnsley and Sheff Utd/Huddersfield games.
I still don't understand why the renewal forms aren't out. Surely you'd put the forms out early and extend the deadline, not delay the release so that people end up spending their cash elsewhere?
I's a total ****up, basic common sense tells us that if they were out months ago most of us would have signed up already before the Barmby saga and there wouldn't be a risk of these people not renewing based on the events of the summer. They've said the passes are out late because they wanted to let the fans know about the Barmby situation first, but that's bollocks on several counts. If they released the passes earlier it wouldn't be forcing anyone to renew and that choice could have been made by the fans. Also, as I've said a few times, the real reason for the delay is the restructuring of the whole seating arrangements. They're moving things about and creating a singing section, it sounds like a good idea to me but they said they were doing this back in October, so it really shouldn't be still delaying things now. NB: this is where fact stops and opinion starts: The 'they don't know about football' stance has been aimed at the Allams plenty of times but in many ways they don't seem to know what they're doing on the business side either. Things like 'accidentally' paying Adebola 3 times more than was agreed and a massive agents fee or allowing Maguire to throw away a 6-figure sum on that winter wonderland thing which they disagreed with (they're meant to be in charge aren't they?) and not noticing that he was paying his own wife's company way over the odds for hospitality. How do these things keep happening without them noticing?
Obviously when they "blow our socks off!" with the new managerial appointment they are expecting to be inundated with renewals
Me, Roaringtiger and the other 3 in the goldentrue family will be renewing whatever the case. Can't understand why they didn't get the forms out earlier and the cash in the bank earing a bit of extra interest...
Did'nt we mortgage the seasons pass money for a few years under Duffen/ Bartlett to get some extra cash to cover our debts? Not saying that is the case but if we aint getting the money that might explain why they aint in no rush to get it.
If the people with football knowledge at the club caused the Allams to have to pay out such sums of money then maybe, just maybe, that is the reason why they want to take a more hands-on approach?
We sold 16000 to Ticketus in 2010 but that was split between 2010/11 and 2011/12. This season, as far as I'm aware, all the revenue goes to the club.
Except the credit card revenue (at least for now). As with all clubs anybody that pays for it with their credit card, even of they pay it off in full straight away the club doesn't receive the cash until October or November. Standard practice due to the insolvency/administration risk with clubs and the joint liability that means if a club goes tits up the credit card companies have to refund the fans even if the cash has been handed over to clubs (so they keep hold of it until they're sure it's safe to release it). Just mentioning it as it explains why there's no rush, how many people do you think pay in full by cash, cheque, or debit card?
Does seem a bit strange its so late being sent our, even end of May seems a long way off, is there a discount if you return it in a couple of weeks? I usually pay up front but thanks to Ricardo I think it will be a credit card payment this season...just in case!
Admittedly there's other reasons I put them on my credit card, but I'd do it with anything that costs over £100. Even if you only pay 1p of the amount on your credit card, if it costs over £100 then the card provider is liable for any guarantees and things just as much as the shop you buy it from. Particularly useful at the minute for buying furniture and holidays, since even companies like Thomas Cook are in trouble (If your family holiday is £99 a head you're not covered, it's each item that has to be £100). If you ever need to claim, it's Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act that covers it. Best one is foreign purchases though, I tend to buy my gadgets when I'm on holiday. Clearly if one breaks it won't be practical to take it back to the shop for a refund or replacement, so by doing it on credit card it means I can just ring the card company up and make it their problem instead, so long as it's still under guarantee/warrantee. EDIT: Just to be clear, I don't think there's a particular reason to take the extra protection when buying your season ticket. I was just saying the banks have to apply a blanket rule to protect themselves and holding on to that money and releasing as the club meets it's obligations (by letting us into games) is how they protect themselves.
