I'd like to see us loan out a few young players to gain 1st team experience.

This season we loaned out a couple

    Toni Silva to Northampton
    David Amoo to Bury

    To just name a couple.

However when you have teams like Chelsea and Arsenal loaning there young players out to premier league clubs it does make you wonder why our kids aren't getting picked up by 'big' clubs.

    I'd personally like to see:
Raheem Sterling loaned out until January to Southampton
Jonjo Shelvey loaned out until January to Reading / Norwich
Nathan Eccleston loaned back to Charlton for the season
Adam Morgan loaned out to a championship club where he would get senior minutes under his belt
Suso loaned out somewhere he can develop the physical aspect of his game.

Of course this only applies if they are not getting regular 1st team chances for LFC.

I know towards the end of this season Raheem has made 3 sub appearances but that just isn't enough especially as we had nothing to play for.

    Any thoughts?

I think Sterling will get 1st team games next season as will Shelvey, loaning some others out is a good idea.

Your not getting Sterling, a big hands off!

Personally I think he should be in instead of Downing, anyone would be a massive improvement on Downing.

Shelvey is an important squad member now.

I think is due to the fact that we don't have many options to choose from. I still feel that he is raw and that we need more quality in that position. Either a replacement or someone with experience and quality to play alongside so he can learn from him.

Shelvey & Sterling will start appearing in the first team this season, Pacheco & Morgan should also try to make a claim too. I think we should loan out the following

Flanno or Robinson (Not Both as Aurelio is off)
    Amoo
    Coady
    Teixeira
    Suso

guys this entirely depends on 3 factors.

    1. is the player going to get games here.

    2. are we going to sign players in positions and block developmental time.

    3. what actual deals we are able to set up.

IMO loans are only worthwhile if they put a player at a higher level than he would be at if he didn't go out. ie league one is utterly pointless. We seriously need to stop loaning players to clubs where all they learn is the showers are cold and crowds are small. Championship or higher should indeed be the target. I do agree with the OP sentiment, but i do think there has to be balance. sterling is tiny, he is being protected and brought on gradually and he is learning somewhat. impatience is not going to help there and the elvel of bloody expectation when he even touched the ball v chelsea was ridiculous. we have to look after these guys.

I just do want to say that for every sturriduge or wellbeck that can be quoted as an example fo players playing for prem teams on loan there are 10 others going to lesser locations. we do need to realise we've not had a player good enough to send out like that either cos they are not there or they ended up in the fist team squad (kelly)

Ive heard we are wanting to loan out Coates too, so hopefully he would go to a PL team and get a starting place.

Big mistake if we do. We need cover for Agger and Skrtel and frankly Carra is finished. Coates needs the game time but I dont see why he cant do that with us playing as 3rd CB.

It would be very bad if Shelvey went out on load again. He's done that and now needs to get played.

Looking at the first-team squad, I can see a couple going out on loan.

Danny Wilson is currently with Blackpool and I see him going out on loan again. He could come back and gain a squad place. With Agger/Skrtel the first-choice pairing and Carragher and Coates behind them in the pecking order, Wilson could come in and get some action in the Carling Cup/F.A Cup.

However, I think he'll go back out on loan to get those all important 90 minutes every week.

Jack Robinson has been linked with Derby and that would help Jack with his development. Getting 90 minutes every week in a competitive league would help Jack massively. Leaves up a bit short at left-back though...

Players like Amoo, Pacheco & Darby will move away permanently in my opinion. Amoo hasn't really done it at Bury (5 goals in 39 games) Darby has too much competition at right-back (Johnson, Kelly & Flanagan) and Pacheco has dropped off massively. I don't think he has scored for Rayo Vallecano and I can't see him getting back into the squads at Liverpool.

    Loan out the youth?? PMSL

To be honest I think you would struggle to loan out members of your first eleven!

Am I alone in thinking that Shelvey is a talented young player that should get opportunities in some cup games next season BUT is not yet good enough to be starting in the league?

I agree. He is still raw, along with Spearing and Henderson. They are good squad players but they won't be taking us to 4th.

Without huge spending that the owners don't seem likely to sanction, we're very unlikely to make fourth next season anyway. With that in mind I'd like to keep playing Henderson and Shelvey in the centre, as that's a partnership that we could keep for ten years if they can both develop together.

Jordan Ibe, I think he's 16 now, scored for Wycombe on his debut in league one this season, so he should be loaned to that division if not the championship this season shouldn't he? Agree that Teixera should be loaned out, would be great to see him playing competitive football.
