The general consensus amongst fans seems to be that we could lose some of our top players in big-money moves to other clubs. Quotes from Pardew would seem to back this up too. With our excellent record of scouting quality players over the past year or so, would you be concerned about this?

Also, if a player was to leave, would price would you feel comfortable with? What would you say is a reasonable rate for someone like Tiote to be sold for, for example?

I'd want 20m plus for Tiote. I think you'd have to be concerned a little if he left but I have a lot of faith in our current path to be honest. If he leaves I'm sure we'd have his replacement ready to rock.

As I've said before the question of players being sold seems to get put to Pardew more than most managers and all he's said is every player has their price, as is the same at every other club around the country.

We have players tied down to long term contracts because A) it puts the asking price up & B) it'll put most clubs off and narrows down the buying market. So only clubs prepared to pay stupid money will come in for them.
I've read that for every year on a players contract is worth around £5 million for each year, considering most of our top players have 4-5 years left you'll be looking to at least £20-£25 million. And as Pardew said MA is a hard seller and won't let players go for £7 million.

I think 1 big player will go which will go towards bringing in 3-4 new faces.

Which to be fair is even more sensible this year to cope with the increase in games next year.

I can see the logic in it they'll let one maybe two at top go which shouldn't disrupt the balance of the squad to much but allow them to add and build the squad.

It doesn't make sense letting Guthrie go, if he's crying on saying he wants more match time surely now we have an increase in matches with being in the Europa League would give him more of a chance to prove himself and to cement a spot. Especially if is Tiote one of the players who goes.

Problem with Guthrie is he is saying he wants to start every game. He isn't good enough to do that for us.

From Pardews comments on Friday he basically said if Guthrie isn't playing every game he has a problem with that, if he can't put up with that at NUFC then it's probably best he leaves. He made it sound like Guthrie had spat his dummy out.
But when he stepped in for Tiote he did a pretty good job, so think it would be a shame if he does go. He's a good squad play which is what we need for next season.

Four players that could be sold, but we MUST keep, no buts, no ifs -

    Cisse
    Krul
    Cabaye
    Ben Arfa

Players that aren't as essential IMO but we really, really could use -

    Ba
    Tiote

Even though Tiote is an awesome player and improves the quality of our midfield, I don't think he's as essential as the four players above.

Ba could be vital, but if Cisse and Ba can't play together well in a 4-4-2, and Ba isn't happy playing LW in a 4-3-3, I don't see him staying.

Ba is a fantastic player, but Cisse is definitely the one that is best for our style of play.

I'd love to keep Ba but I think he could be replaced well, Cisse can't.

Tiote is class but isn't as essential as the others, we've coped without him and he's been in and out of form and fitness all season.

Personally think Tiote is more important than cabaye overall but each to his own.

Also, assume you haven't included Coloccini as he has no chance of leaving? I think he's more important than all of those players.

I'd keep him and you'd never have heard me say that before this season. Previously I found to be pretty poor. But this year he rocked up slimmer and has put in some really good performances. I just can't see him sticking around based on those comments. Easily replaceable and to be honest Abeid might be ready next year.

Yes, I don't think there's any chance of Colo leaving because no one will pay the amount it would take for us to get rid of him. He's 30 and very important.

It amuses me that anyone could think we won't sell our best players. It also makes me laugh now hearing fans discuss how much money they want for them. I's not like we will see any of the money is it? I rather we just kept the same team and addeed 3 or 4 thank you very much and goodnight.

We cant even keep hold of a **** local lad for more than half a season because everyone in the media enjoys hypeing up our players and some morons are prepared to pay ridiculous fees for them.
