Cause he HAS to be the center of attention, imagine what he'd be like if he was still at Citeh with all their ego's.

I don't condone with Barton's actions but I respect a man who speaks his mind far much more than a man who keeps his head down and his hands in his pockets.

There is speaking your mind and there is spouting off, Barton is the latter. What ever his opinion is of shearer, he could of put it a bit more diplomatically or not at all.

Example Lineker comments on football etc all the time on Twitter, when Barton does it he goes out to get the attention.

After yesterdays sending off he knew he'd be under the spotline with the journo's just waiting for his pearls of (pointless)wisdom and true to form provided them with what they wanted. He has taken away what was a very good team performance by QPR who may have got a result had he stayed on the pitch. And had it not been for the useless ref at Bolton they stayed up.

In all fairness, Shearer is a pretty boring pundit and Barton does have a better haircut than him.

    Me too.
Sadly most people prefer the characterless nothing players who'll just spout the same 'Errm... yeah... erm.. The lads played really well... erm... Yeah' bollocks every week. The minute anyone who actually has something to say turns up they get uncomfortable.

Stan Collymore or Robbie Savage tell it how it is. Collymore was getting some nasty abuse off Villa fans, HIS club and for speaking the truth. They use actual facts etc

Barton doesn't tell it how it is, he spouts off and talks **** throwing half arsed accusations around to deflect attentions for his own stupidity.
Yes Tevez has hit him, but instead of playing the situation like he did with Gervinho at SJP and played it to get him sent of he went out for revenge. Not satisfied with that went out to try and get a Citeh player sent off with him, which he has admitted in his rants.

He should get done for each incident with the red so effectively 3 red cards plus his comments for bringing the game into disrepute.

He's a tosser plan and simple

Barton should get banned without pay until 1st Januray 2013, if you ask me.

I'm unsure what Barton deserves to be honest. From what I've seen he needs 3 games for the Tevez incident. He should probably get another 3 for Aguero. The Kompany one is nothing. The temptation is to get carried away because its Barton but probably 6 games is fair. He behaved like a tool and deserves whatever he has coming. Tevez should be given a 3 game ban for his part of course to keep things right.

You do know you get an extra match for every offence so even if the Kompany incident was nothing that's a 9 match ban, but its worth remembering Di Canio got 11 for less and Cantona got 8 months, so compared to these offences Barton should get a very big ban.

The Cantona and Barton incidents are not really comparable. Same for Di Canio. Very different ball game to take retribution out on a official. As for Cantona, to be honest that is in a league of its own. Just pure madness that one. Players will come together and cross the line, nature of competitive sport. Attacking third parties likes officials or fan is a bit different in my opinion.

Common sense approach for me. Clearly three games is not sufficient, but for me 9 games for that is just overkill. I'd have to watch the Kompany bit again because although I thought he moved his head towards him, I don't think he got near to touching him (I could be wrong though). Overall a 6 game ban would send out a message and be about right in terms of punishing him. Players full of adrenalin will always do silly things. I have to say I've seen a lot worse things happen on a football pitch. Lets look at it in real terms, he has elbowed Tevez but not harmed him, kicked Aguero petulantly but not really harmed him, and attempted to touch heads with Kompany (not sure that is even sensible given his blockhead). Lets not blow out of all proportion. As I say I've seen a lot more damage done on a football pitch. Shearer on several occasions for starters. It was just really petulant and babyish from Barton.

Its interesting that few seem to mention Tevez's part in the incident, given he provoked it.

Tevez isn't the big story he should get 3 games as well.

He got widely condemned and criticised for that as well. For Barton there's never a course of action he can take without someone trying to get him punished.
There's also the fact that players regularly get away with either borderline or outright illegal offences against him - Tevez is the most recent example, but there was also the incident with Song in the Arsenal game that wasn't punished until after the game. Things like that are going to get to you and eventually you're going to snap.

I'd agree with Warm Pouch that 6 games is probably fair, although Tevez has to see some sort of ban as well.

The Gervinho incident was like Tiote's, they totally over reacted which is why the got condemned for it. Had they stayed on their feet but reacted to getting hit it draws attention to it but doesn't make it so mellow dramatic.

A 6 game ban for the Tevez and Auguero incident, so what about the comments on Twatter where he's admitted he was trying to incite Citeh players to get one sent off as well. Can't really say he is being dealt with diffrently here when he has been stupid enough to say he was going out to get someone else sent off. He's a horrible little gobshite who doesn't deserve to play in the top league with an attitude like that.

Each sending off is worth an extra game, so it is an extra game for Tevez, then two extra games for Aguero, also the Kompany incident was a red card, which is meant to be an extra 3 match ban. Think when twitter is put into a ban till January 1st 2013 would be fair.

He should just be banned from twatter full stop. But its not something that is punishable with bans I would hope. I suppose it sums up how daft he really is when he is going to print with stuff like that. Those are things you might reveal in private to a friend or teammate, not the whole ****ing world! I don't think the way he went on is very good but I think everyone is getting a bit carried away with heavy handed bans. 6 games is a fair old whack on the knuckles.
