No idea how good if I am honest, I am hoping he isn't a replacement, just an addition to the squad, I will look at it as a replacement for Mika. He is available for free, Derby did not want to lose him and we will need to fight off interest from Middlesbrough and Ipswich
Completely agree Ristac, we need to get additions to the middle before it was decided we were getting rid of clayton anyway
God I hope not. Right sided Danny Pugh without the top flight experience. If this is seriously the calibre of signing we're looking at we can kiss promotion goodbye.
Mixed opinions I see, I guess NW can see something in him if the rumours are true. Pugh cost £500k this guy would be free.
I know nothing of him, but if he is signed as a squad player, bearing in mind he is first team at derby and they wanted to keep him on I don't have much of an issue with that. Although again, dont know anything about his style of play really
Thats a joke right? Ive hated him from the first few times i saw him play. Decent until he plays against a half decent winger then gets absolutely raped!
It wasn't intended to be a joke but I take all the laughs I can get... I don't think he was too bad in his first season. Reliable was the word I used for him, nothing ever special but did all the basics right. He's lost it now but back then I didn't think too badly of him Although thinking back, he may have just been the least of concern in our back four of Connolly, Collins, Naylor, Bessone
Exactly, it would be madness to believe we are going to sign 7-8 Pearce type players, this guy is on a free transfer, don't consider if he is better than Clayton, consider would he be a decent squad player. One more thing to add, he played first team for Derby a team that finished above us.
Isn't this Green 29 though? Just thinking if are to be without Clayton then with Brown and Pugh we won't half be experienced in midfield. That might not be a bad thing as long as we have some pace down the flanks. On a small note, we could have Green, Brown and White in midfield. Anyone else we could add to our colourful team?
Well as has been said, Green wouldn't likely be Clayton's replacement, more an addition and then we also get a replacement for Clayton. Remember we have gotten rid of Varynen and Nunez too and need an extra adequate player
There's no point signing a squad player when we don't have the starting 11 players for him to back-up.
Clayton is still starting 11 though as is Snodgrass. IF either of them go then yes we shall need a replacement and I hope funds incoming for them would be spent on someone of equal if not better quality.
