Hes exactly what we've been missing this season, when we go down in a game our heads drop, and we dont have one standout leader to gee people up and shout and scream, this is the man, its an absolute must that he plays as much as possible next season.

His form was fantastic at the start of the season, he really looked the real deal, hope he can come back better than ever next season and stay fit.

Big year for him next year. We missed him badly and it does make you wonder where we might have been with him available. Another one like the last few years and he'll be labelled in the Woodgate/Ledley King bracket of perma crocks. I'm sticking to the "unlucky" theory for now but it is becoming a worry how fragile he is. Top defender and I personally would have liked to see him, Lescott, Jagielka, Cahill as our 4 centre backs this summer. I think they are the best 4 english centre backs. Terry and Ferdinand are past their best. Smalling and Jones are yet to reach theirs.

Colo is a good captain, but we also need Saylor has a big influential player also. His passion, bravery and strength at the back is missed so much.

 

im guna put it out there but ive thought that saylor was a better cb than colo from the start of the season and if anything next season we should play douglas if we get him with saylor...big call i know but colo isnt great when the play is buzzing in and behind him gets blinded too easily great defender when players are running directly at him though love the guy and hes carried us a lot this season but i just feel he is a bit weak at times ie the jelavic goal

 

Him and Colo were about on par performances wise when they were both playing I thought, which shows just how much Taylor improved this season, what with Colo being in the team of the year and all.

 

Colo is definitely the more technical, all round player. But Saylor's presence at the back, his strength, aerial ability and bravery were just as vital to the team as Colo's role.

I honestly think Tayls would have made the euro squad. We would have been even better and finished third obviously so people would have been raving about him by now. You can have "fall flat on your face and get dragged out of defence easy" Terry or the athleticism of Super Steven Taylor. It should be a no brainer.

 

He's completely changed my mind about him this past couple of years, I absolutely love him now and we missed him big time since his injury. Can't wait to see him and Colo in the heart of the defence again and also a new man on the scene challenging, very exciting!

 

People are right, big year next year for him needs to stay fit, don't know if he would have made this euro squad though. Even if he had played all season and well, I still think Roy would still have taken terry, ferdinand, cahill, jagielka.
