Newcastle were well rid, what future does the Knacker have now. No place in football for goons like him.

Be nice to the lad. After all if it wasn't for his behaviour City would have only been given an extra 3 mins or so. Look on him as a history changer.

Joey Barton facing lengthy ban after red card in QPR defeat

QPR midfielder Joey Barton is facing a lengthy ban for his red card and subsequent actions in the 3-2 defeat by Manchester City. Barton, 29, was sent off for an off-the-ball incident involving Carlos Tevez, but also kicked Sergio Aguero before leaving the field. He will receive an automatic four-game ban for his second red of the season. But his reaction and his later comments on Twitter could mean the Football Association adds to his suspension.

Barton tweeted: "People are forgetting Tevez started the fracas by throwing a punch to the head. Can do nothing but apologise to the players and the fans. Still don't think its a sending off."

After being ordered from the pitch, Barton floored Aguero with a kick, but said that this was aimed at inciting the Manchester City players. He added: "The head was never gone at any stage, once I'd been sent off, one of our players suggested I should try to take one of theirs with me. It never worked but god loves a trier."
On his way from the field, Barton was confronted by Vincent Kompany and Mario Balotelli, and had to be ushered down the tunnel by QPR staff and City substitute Micah Richards.
BBC pundit Robbie Savage replied to Barton's tweets, saying: "When you see it back it was a red defo [sic], then also could of been a red for kick out [at Aguero]. "You shouldn't of elbowed him [Tevez] in the throat, booted Aguero and squared up to Kompany." Speaking on Final Score, former England defender Martin Keown said: "His behaviour afterwards, even if it wasn't a sending off, is absolutely unforgivable."

Fellow pundit Garth Crooks added: "This will go beyond the summer. When the FA seee this there will be reprisals. It's extraordinary. You can only describe it as an assault on Carlos Tevez. He should get a six-month ban, for that incident alone."

Despite the defeat by City, QPR avoided relegation from the Premier League thanks to Bolton's failure to beat Stoke.

"I've not seen it [the initial incident involving Tevez]," said manager Mark Hughes. "Some media people have said he deserved it and even after he was shown red there was somewhat of a melee which was unfortunate as well.
"But I am pleased the guys were able to use that situation to good effect, so let's try not to focus on that incident because it was one negative on a fantastic day for QPR."

Mark Hughes doesn't see much. Perhaps he sits in Wengers seat.

The F.A will come down hard on Barton for this. Or if they had any balls they would.

I worry at Mark Hughes lack of sight as he may overlook yet another piece of thuggery that Bartons previous clubs have ignored and then welcome him back after he serves his FA suspension next season.
It was said on the BBC yesterday that to sack him would involve paying up his full contract which was thought a non starter, so he may well be back.Only time will tell.

I heard that as well but im pretty sure that Barton must have breached his contract in some way surely, especially when he gets found guilty and given a lengthy ban?

He's been saying some rather cheeky things about Big Al!!!! (Read below!!!).......he's also gone on to slag Liniker off too, threatening to expose something that will ruin his 'squeaky clean' image!!!!!

Joey Barton showed what a thug he is yet again this Sunday by kicking off with about everyone on the pitch in the Man City – QPR title decider.

Sometime after the game She-ra on a popular football TV show decided to make comments on the incident after seeing what had gone on, obviously Joey was at home watch the show.

Barton reacted by bounced a reaction towards She-ra through his official twitter account writing:

“Shearers still on my case..."I know I f*cked up Alan, thanks for stating the obvious."

Whilst were both stating the obvious about each other, can I just say for the record what a great player u were. Well better me...

But I have a better hair(which is not hard), wear well better shirts on TV and have a personality(something u lack).

I really don't like that prick, in fact I honestly despise him... Goodnight.

I'd take it off Hansen and @GaryLineker but not from that bell, same fella that stamped on Neil Lennon, then threatened FA if they banned him

...That he would retire from international football. No sorry, not having him, never have. Selfish, boring man him. He can do one...

My favourite memory of him though is when he dropped his spuds when Keano put it on him. Goodnight Al, sleep well matey...

With that my #shearerrant is over... Goodnight all xxxxxx”

Barton initially said on Twitter that while he would "take it" from Alan Hansen and Lineker, he refused to be criticised by "that bell" Alan Shearer.

The QPR midfielder then rebuffed Lineker's defence of Shearer and his suggestion that Barton was attempting to deflect from "obvious and deserved criticisms".

Lineker then said to Barton: "Still raging then? Still kicking out? And still, presumably, misunderstood? But only by yourself I suspect."

Barton responded: "Do u wanna go there publicly "Mr Squeaky Clean" ? Think u should have a look in that vast closet of skeltons before u respond. (sic)

"I know a lot about THAT side to u the people don't and won't bat an eye lid at exposing u.

"So mind ur manners Squeaky... now back under your stone you odious little toad..."
