If true its genius, if he's already off why not?

Tbh i would take him at our club, good player. The fact Tevez punches him in the first place, does that not deserve a ban?

Missed the original incident, did Tevez really punch him? If so, JB has been done wrong. Not that he should have reacted as such though!

Barton is clearly wrong, and should be banned for the maximum amount of time thats right for what he has done, think someone quoted 13 games earlier in this thread.

I just feel one rule for one, and one for another. Its widely known Tevez threw the first one, why where Manchester City's substitutes on the pitch? Will they get charged with failing to control their players? The players should also be booked. Also Man City had more than the allocated three men around the referee, should they get charged for that and every man who wasn't the captain did they get booked?

No. Consistency please. P.S Barton deserves what he gets, aslong as there is consistency.

He has a future at brainyquote.com, the site where he gets all his quotations from for Twitter, without them I don't think he has ever had an intelligent word to say.

I agree with this. Tevez hit Barton first and twice as hard, then Barton gets sent off for elbowing him slightly in the midriff (Teves starts holding his head of course) and then Aguero is all over the ref telling him to send him off even though he hadn't seen what happened I don't blame Barton for getting pissed off about it and swinging at Aguero. They both got away with murder simply because they were on the opposite side to Barton.

The worst thing is no one even saw it. The officials saw Tevez on the floor being a ****ing cheat and they saw the accused was Barton and put 2 and 2 together. He got sent off for being Joey Barton, any other player would have got away with it.

On top of that, how the **** did Stoke have that first goal allowed? It was a total ****ing farce, Bogdan had it in two hands and Walters barged him into the goal, didn't even touch the ball. We've had goals this season disallowed because the 'keeper has come out and someone touched him and you just accept it because that's how soft football is for keepers now. Yet for some reason, once again a whole different set of rules apply for Stoke. They are more physical than every other team and yet for some reason get away with far more, you'd think the refs would start showing bias against them but it works the other way. I can't believe Bolton went down because of that goal, absolute joke.

Great day of football but even on a day like this with all the entertaining stuff going on there are still these two ridiculous incidents which spoil it and both had big impacts on the title/relegation.

Unfortunately I don't think they will be able to sack him - I think he will get a 10 match ban. QPR will want rid ASAP after that

A complete contrast in fortunes for the 2 players though as it turned out.

The Barton incident will soon be forgotten as QPR survived relegation.

Ballotelli will be remembered as the player who provided the goal assist to give Manchester City their first Premiership title and break their 44 year drought to regain the title of English Football League Champions. Was in South Africa at that time (planning to leave for Australia)and my best friend was married to a Manchester City fan. Today our next door neighbour is a Manchester City fan having migrated here in 1949 as a teenager.

Saw it on MOTD, what the **** was Barton doing? Not that there wasn't fault on both sides though. Tevez hit/tried to hit Barton before the incident and why was Balotelli getting involved? I'm not sure on the Aguero bit, you can see the anger in Barton's face when he kicks him so how much of an over reaction it was from Aguero i'm not certain. Disgraceful behaviour though from Barton and hopefully he'll get what he deserves.

Didn't spoil it for me. I thought the Barton incident was very entertaining, and added to the whole drama of the day.

It did, cos City wouldnt have won the title without it. There is no way on earth QPR wouldve lost if the Bolton result wasnt in and they were safe, simple as. It was Barton's actions that meant the City game finished after Stoke v Bolton.

I actually wouldve loved to see Kompany or Balotelli given the chance of a crack at him. They're both huge blokes.

Why wouldn't City have won? Not too sure what logic you've used there.

Barton was sent off on 55mins with the game 1-1.

Had he not got sent-off then the whole series of events afterwards would have been totally different and we wouldn't have had the injury time drama.

Because the events around his sending off delayed the end of the game hence into injury time QPR knew that Bolton were relegated so they stopped playing. If the games had finished at the same time and QPR had to hold out for a point (not knowing Bolton's fate) there is no way they wouldve lost.

Somewhere from 6 games to a lifetime ban.<whistle> Sadly it will be alot closer to 6 games. imo. It would not surprise me to see Mark Hughes try and get rid of Barton this summer.
