Yes, I think this is a fair comment, AG.

This is true. Maldo had some rotten luck last year, just as Senna has this, but now he's come good. I'd give this Bottas story more credence if it came from a less partial source than Salo. As it is, I don't really trust it, although I think it's likely he'll be in for next year.

Did anyone see any of Sky's post race coverage? They were interviewing Bottas and Senna at the same time and Johnny Herbert said something like "So Valtteri, will we be seeing you in Monaco?" Bottas: "No I'm missing the next two races and will be back for Valencia" then I can't remember his exact words but Herbert started suggesting he could be racing later in the season, basically implying Senna could be dropped while Senna was standing between the two of them. It was so awkward. <laugh>

Or did he mean he's missing the next two practices? I hope so. I didn't see it though. I just don't get why they would think Senna is so bad.

Yeah the first question was about practice in Monaco, and Bottas said he'd next be driving in Valencia practice. The Herbert sort of implied he could end up racing by the end of the season.

The way Senna drove today he be driving very soon. Senna is only on the grid because of his last name.

A bit harsh. Until today the points tally was 14 Senna, 4 Maldonado.

He's not been as bad as some have made out and he would likely have got points today if he hadn't been hit up the arse by Schumacher

Senna needs to get his qualy together. Then he'll be a contender as his race pace has been good and as has been said was outscoring Maldo. Odd seeing as it was the opposite last season. Certainly it would be stupid to sack him over one race.

Will be interesting to see how the dynamic changes in that team now. Pastor will be full of confidence.

Think there might be more Senna bashing post Monaco, as Pastor has a good history there. Give him some time, he's not been able to have time in a proper team in his career yet.

Both Maldo and Senna go well at Monaco and have won there in GP2 so hopefully it will be another strong race for Williams there. It is also very promising that they were quick in sector 3 at Catalunya which is all slow speed and traction like Monaco.

Might take an outside bet for a double Williams podium at Monaco.

I'm not sure what this alludes to yet so it's very much unsubstantiated rumour:

Jacques Villeneuve? Damon Hill? Johnny Herbert?

In seriousness, of course Mercedes are going to get a big name to replace Schumacher, that's pretty much a given...

Depends what you class as a big name, I'd expect it to be someone like di Resta or Sutil, neither of whom I'd describe as being big names. Maybe they're going for Vettel (who they won't get) or Hamilton (who they might get), maybe even Raikkonen.

I can't see them promoting Rosberg to be lead driver, so they'll need a team leader. Di Resta I'm not sure about (is he team leader at FI or is Hulkenberg) but certainly Sutil would be a gamble, which means they need a quote unquote "big name" because otherwise I think their fans will be disappointed and it will hinder their chances.

It's Grandprixdiary, i used to follow him, and his tweets are typically joky f1 things, not serious. Schumacher is safe.

They won't replace Schumacher this early. Like i said, the tweet is from grand prix diary, who's more of an F1 satirist than a serious reporter.
