I believe the rumours that Hazard will be at City next season, so we don't win that either :(

Our first kit has blue in it.
Presumably he's trying to push for a transfer to City, Chelsea or United, though.

He may want to stay, but Marseille are cash strapped, so they'll sell a few to balance the books. May as well get to a CL team (fingers crossed) whilst the offer is there

    Hoilett and Nilmar.

Maybe Diego Lopez from Villarreal too - 30 year old goalkeeper.

Blimey! Sell fifteen players?!Fair enough with players like Gomes, Khumalo, Bentley, Jenas. But a) We'd be doing very well to get a better impact sub striker than Defoe or reserve defender than Gallas (is his contract up now?) etc and b) such wholesale changes (15 out and, what, 9 or so signings?) just never happens does it?

I think you can break your list up in two - the players we'd miss and would therefore need replacing and the ones we wouldn't.

One's that would need replacing: Gomes, Gallas, King, Saha, Defoe, Krancjar, Corluka (maybe), King

Ones that we wouldn't miss: Gomes (how'd he get on both lists?), Dos Santos, Bassong, Nelson, Khumalo, Bentley, Dawkins, Jenas, Pienaar.

Though I thought Pienaar should be in a separate category since I think his absence WAS notable in the run-in.

Sell anyone on the second list. Anyone on the first list is sold and we need to buy a replacement. Since we're never gonna buy more than, say, 5 new players in a summer we can't sell them all.

Plus transfers are always risky. If we can get another year out of Gallas, say, which defender can we buy who won't cost a shed-load and who is happy to not start every game and is good enough when needed?

I've put up a list of Spurs' most expensive signings before - it's not pretty.

For me we need to sign Ade, buy one more striker (at least) and everything else is dependent on who leaves and whether Friedel can do a job for another year (no evidence he can't). A genuine bit of competition for RM wouldn't go amiss if/when we sell Bentley, Dos Santos.

I agree that it's dramatic, Lenny.
I'd never normally advocate such wholesale changes, but virtually all of those on my out list are never going to be used under Redknapp or are pretty useless when they are.
The few exceptions (Defoe, Saha, Gallas, Nelsen, King) either don't suit the system, in the case of the strikers or have severe fitness issues.
If we can't get in suitable replacements, then I agree about keeping Gallas, though.

I don't see players like Dawkins or Khumalo leaving as having any impact on continuity or how settled our squad is.
Those out on loan probably won't have much, either.
It's a risk, I'll admit, but our depth has been severely compromised over the past 12 months or so and it needs to be addressed.
