Come on guys really? Is everyone still jealous of what United and Ferguson have achieved? Ferguson has achieved something domestically in such a short period of time that no-one in history has probably produced before so consistently and will again. To say they are dead is stupid. Did someone say the same thing when Fergie nearly retired in 2003 i think it was. Hasn't he won 4 out of the last 6 league titles? Whilst still winining the CL and getting to two finals in that time. Man City deserved to win the title, there is no such thing as winning the title. United's spend to trophy ratio puts them fifteenth in the division i believe from an article i read earlier. So to say United buy title's is daft. Cleverly, Wellbeck, Scholes, Giggs are probably the only one's still left from within their ranks. However i am pretty sure Shawcross would still get a game, Evans is still there, O'Shea and Brown are kicking around in the PL still as is P Neville. I think United have the most amount of youngsters from one academy playing in the Football League in the PL so just because there not playing for United doesn't mean there not helping the league does it? That like saying Wenger hates English players.
Who said they were dead? I suggested that they may be on the slide, which is just an opinion. No need to start calling anyone stupid because it just makes you look a bit silly.
Wasn't necessarily at you per se, well the Man Utd on the slide bit was. The jealousy and the rest of it was aimed at those criticizing United for spending without looking at the facts, and those who hate Man Utd and claim they do nothing for English football when i feel they have done more than any other club has for 30 years. IF Man City build their academy etc... as they plan they my challenge that status. To say United are dead is stupid? Correct. However i admit you didn't say that, i just think you write them off to early, they just lost the title on Goal Difference with the most points someone has ever got for finishing second. I just don't see what evidence there is to say their on the slide.
Would a Man Utd side of five or ten years ago lose a title after having an eight point lead? Would they lose to Wigan at the business end of the season? Would they throw a two goal lead away to Everton in the last ten minutes at the business end of the season at Old Trafford? I don't think they would. I also don't think they have anywhere near the calibre of players that they used to have. All that could possibly indicate that they are on the slide.
what a great insult. ****ing muppet. very interlectual(on purpose so you can try and insult the tpyo) ****
I admit i know more about United than most, but exactly ten years ago was Sir Alex's worst season as United manager since he won his first league title........ So not sure thats evidence. Yes they lost some awful games that season. Last year did United not lose 3-1 at Everton after being 1-0 up? Is Rooney better than he was five years ago? Yes. The player's one is the only one i feel you have any evidence of. However you could say would many United sides come from 10 points behind Man City to be joint with them?
Not particularly, i just prefer Man Utd to Man City, and i feel to many people don't look at the stats, such as 'Man Utd buy the title', 'Man City bought the title', to outlandish comments that don't take into fact the complexities of winning the league. How much have Chelsea spent and they don't have the consistency of winning things that United do. I agree it has to end sometime, but many said that ten years ago, United need new blood, yet they need to give Jones, Cleverly and Wellbeck game time, it takes time. United will be back i am sure, i am just as sure Man City have a manager who will bring consistent titles such as he did at Inter. It shall be interesting.
Utd threw it away to Arsenal in 97/98 after leading by 12, lost it to Blackburn & Leeds too. So yes, they could do all that & more. Fergie was out the door today until that result, Moyes was in!
what a Completely irrelevant point. how long did man u take to spend this much starting team? worth this much. rooney, Ferdinand, evra carrick have been there for years Evans, scholes, giggs all came through the system. only degea , young, phil jones and valencia are recent purchase. man city have bought their entire and spent that much within 3 years. man u have always spent big of course but not like this new fantasy football way man city are doing. man u bought ronaldo for £8million or something close , they've formed him and turned him into what he is. what city would have done is wait until he's as good as now and pay £75million for him. man u can't buy anyone they want or pay enough wages for anyone they want so they still go for British young promising players like smalling and jones... man city can get anyone they want. they could get messi if he didn't love barca so much , that has ruined the game for good probably.
I dont think they are on the slide. They have more points than they got last year, without arguably their best defender in Vidic.
