FFS, come on boys and girls, no rose tinted glasses or head in the sand, Iââ¬â¢m pissed off after today, pissed off to be in the bottom half and yes, pissed off to be below Newcastle. Iââ¬â¢m far from happy with the performances of late, uncomfortable about our run in, unsure of Sess and Muntari and concerned about our lack of goal scoring. But relegation, we are doomed, Bruce to be sacked, the world is nigh, no, we lost a few more than expected and our players have gone missing, again. We still have a squad that can do the job. We have proven premier players, a proven premier manager and a chairman and owner who are no fools. I can see no way we can go down because the teams below us wont make up the points needed. We will either rally and end in the top half and build in the summer. Or we wont and end bottom half and I think we will see the less cuddly side of Short. Whatever happens we can only help by supporting, should be used to it, we are Sunderland.
In some ways you should be used to it-- in terms of your up n down reputation. But this year Sunlun are far better than bottom 6 material and with 2 wins -with easier games coming up- Sunlun will be moving upwards. A note would be that Quinn cant win points immediatley but long term he may do
What I can't understand is everytime we start to believe, Sunderland contrive to let us down once again. No other team seems to self destruct in quite the same way as Sunderland when they are on the pinnacle of success!!
ffs syd we were useless.Brucie needs to get stuck into them now.Anything they get tonight they have ****ing earned..
Our season starts at home against west brom. I expected to lose the last few games, we played good sides and have had a fair share of injuries. IMO bardo needs to move to rb, he has done well at lb but he is right footed and we need balance. Ricco (when fit) should play lb. We need to go on a run now and win a fee games, we can still finish top 10 or higher which is progress. It's time to dig in get behind the lads and show we can keep progressing.
Having watched Sunderland outbattle Chelsea at the bridge and beat city at SOL through, in my opinion, wanting it more than we did, more than anything I was surprised at the lack of passion from Sunderland. You don't have players who want the ball or are willing to scrap for the bits and pieces that before the game was why I was worried about today's game.Managers just don't seem to do any homework before they come to our place, city are really vulnerable against teams that get into their faces and get wide which was something you didn't do all day.We had a young lad playing his first game at right back and he had no pressure at all. We must now be considered by the refs union " a big club" because after years of being on the wrong end of garbage decisions, we now get the 50/50s ie the penalty Doubt you'd have got it
And you would know cos you've got more posts on a Sunderland board than your own. Closet mackem i reckon.
NEe offence mate but you want to put Richardson who couldn't tackle if his life depended on it, in place of one of the only team members who actually shows some heart and willing to put his body on the line? Richardson was **** at LB every time he was there ffs, all he ever did was give free kicks away, he is **** where ever he plays, a couple of goals aside his passing is rubbish his tactical nous is non existent but apart from that I'm his biggest fan. As for Bruce, NOW is the time he needs to step forward and do something about this shambles. No more excuses, his tactics have been all wrong lately and if he can't motivate our highly paid stars there's something sadly wrong somewhere. I'm a realist and wasn't expecting us to go to City and wipe the floor with them, but nor did I expect us to roll over and play dead for them.
Having slept on it I'm still gutted about yesterday -not because we lost but because it is unacceptable for 11 highly paid footballers not to turn up;I don't think that it is the end of the world and it will be interesting to see how the lads react to what should be the biggest bollocking of their lives. I don' want to single out individuals for the lack of performance-I think the quality of the squad and injuries are the root cause;Turner and Catts are nowhere near match fit and I suspect that Bardo was not 100% and only started because of the injury to Titus If we pick up the expected 3 points next weekend it will take a lot of pressure off and we can get back to playing good football again-remember our response to the Sid James fiasco.
