For Zimbabwe for the world and African cup qualifiers. Great news for the lad and the stuff of fairy tales. Hope it doesn't compromise his availability though!!
Is this the first step back to the days when on international days our squad would be decimated by call-ups? It's also good to see an ex-Charlton player in the Champion's League next season(Darren Randolph at Motherwell)
Yes to both points I suspect Bill. Wiggins is sniffing round the edges of the Wales squad too (on standby for their friendly v Mexico). I always thought Randolph was the best of our keepers in recent years. Preferred him to Elliott and thought he got a roiugh deal.
This is great news for Bradley and it's also appropriate that Rhoys Wiggins should have been recognised by Wales, although I suspect that a decent showing for his country would pretty much seal his early departure.
Pritchard has only started 14 first-team matches and a handful of reserve games all season. He is unlikely to be a regular first pick in the Championship next season (though he might have been had we remained in Div One), so he doesn't need an extended rest and should be well able to cope with playing for Zim. It will do him good. And with a bit of luck he might be able to recommend some other talents in the team to CP.
Speaking of Randolph, he's also on the borders of the Republic of Ireland team (he's on Standby for the Euro squad). Got a lot of time for the fella and hope he makes the keeper shirt his own. Personally I rated Elliot over him at Charlton, but he clearly has a lot of talent and he's fashioning himself a very good career. Still young too. I hope Pritchard gets into the Zimbabwe first XI. The only other player based over here who is in the squad is Bhasera for Plymouth. Would be amazing if they got into the World Cup with Pritchard playing
Deserved for Pritchard. He's had a good season, but now needs to step up and stop getting over excited. If he can do that then he'll have no problems next season.
