Thats the best way to play. However people like valencia wouldnt fit into that role. He is so good because he can do good work both in attack and defence from a wide area in a 442 formation. I think he wouldnt offer enough in this more attacking role. Although maybe you will play more like this: rm-----cm-----cm-------lm -----------Kagawa-------- --------Rooney-------------- in big game and espicially in europe. But even then you need someone to pass in centre mid which you do have. If you change over to the formation you list then I think you need a bigger turnover in personel which I cant see happening
I'm sure in Citys masses of managment staff they would have scouted Kagawa, Lewandowski, Subotic etc... after Dortmund romped the Bundesliga. Alternatively, after seeing Dortmund this season (in terms of support and players around him) why would Kagawa even want to leave!? Also, what a goal by Ribery.
I suspect fergie wants to get the deal done early before city can make their interest known (much like nasri). I would suspect city could be interested just because you are interested. And if we are honest if they are interested they will get their man....
