the reason i ask is im not sure myself, i like martin o'niell as manager and i think he is a massive step up from bruce.

BUT am i the only one who hates counter attacking football? fair enough if your playing the top 3/4 teams but other then that i'd like my team to have a good go!

even when bruce was manager if we went a goal down against say villa or bolton for example i still thought we would get one back, but every time we concede now i think how the **** are we gona score if they sit back and protect the lead?

we're set up to hit people on the counter but what happens if they arent attacking?

so back to my question i hope for top 10 and a half decent cup run and i will be over the moon if we get that .

ps i like mon and i think he is the man to take us forward.

Smithy. What do I expect from next season? Prety much what I expect every season, for the whole of my life. That world defining season that blows me away, a bit like what the Mag fans are feeling right now. but am feeling more at ease with MoN at the helm. more importantly for me is "Where am I watching the pre season games" as I said before Bielefeld would suit me fine, ok, Im not in Holland anymore, but The travelling would not faze me. and We all enjoyed our weekend away, would love it again, and so cheap.

Oh european footy by any method would be lovely. Hope MON given at least a bit of tool box to do it. And no I find the counter attack stuff really exciting but I think you will get your wish next season when MON has more of his own squad and see us look to dominate more games but hey we have the option of counter attack these days!

i like it against the big teams but when we sit back and let the likes of swansea pass the ball around all game, its just **** i mean if swansea had scored we would have been ****ed cause we just sat back all game. hope your right tho and we start battering the smaller teams and really impose ourselves on teams.

Because ambition is delusion for anyone north of Manchester!

As for your playing style, our first season back in the Premier League (and parts of this season) were played on the counter, Pardiola and his signings are doing a decent job of bringing a bit more attacking flair and I think with a decent forward alongside Sess (if he stays) will be a massive boost both in terms of enjoyment and quality of play. Having said that, Martin O'Neil's teams have always played with a certain 'organised' style, so I don't see you becoming swash-buckling, all out attackers under him.

The Summer will be vitally important for both clubs, we need to hang on to as many of our top stars as we can, but if they do leave, it needs to be for big bucks, with replacements brought in quickly.

I'm expecting the usual. 38 games, of which 19 will be played at home and 19 away.

Well Pardew said we're closing in on someone who is friendly with Cabaye (popular money says Mathieu Debuchy from Lille) as he and Cabaye came through the Lille youth system together. Douglas from FC Twente has been heavily linked and would be the brawn to colo's brains at the back....Santon, Coloccini, Douglas, Debuchy is a pretty solid back 4!

Aside from that I think it'll be building up the background players and replacing anyone who goes (Luuk De Jong for Ba perhaps?)

How about Sunderland? Any notable names you've been linked with?

a 10-1 away win at ASDA would be nice to eclipse the record top flight away victory when it was St james.
