Which was quite enlightening. Obviously they were spud fans so they had some delusion - Bale is the greatest, etc. But they were good guys and had fairly good opinions. Anyway, they really dont seem confident about sunday (mainly because of Harry and their defence). And I must say I agree with them. I really cant see them getting a win vs a fulham side who are on very good form. I know fulham are poor away but its not like they have to go far to spuds. Also spuds will be under BIG pressure and fulham have good footballers who will thrive with being relaxed. I also cant see newcastle winning vs everton away. So thats my point. I dont think we need a point vs the brummies and we will get 3rd irrespective of our result. Who agrees? Also who else has noticed a serious lack of confidence among spud fans going into the games on sunday? Being away could work to our advantage whilst the nervousness around the lane could negatively effect their performance. Prediction for other clubs games: Spuds 1 - Fulham 2 Everton 2 Newcastle 0
Obviously we will try mate. But I just dont think we need a point and spuds fans are nervous and this will count against them being at home (at least the spud fans I have spoken to are nervous). Also if we lose by a single goal and spuds draw then we also get 3rd on goals scored
Who'd have thought Toon would have beaten Chelsea at SB like they did, so on that basis I would they think probably will stand a good chance of beating Everton. Of all the 3 games, I think our is the one where the result could go against the team chasing 3rd.
I am quietly confident ahead of the WBA game. Only the bottom 3 have more home defeats than West Brom. Also, not having the game at home might work for us. This is going to be a nervy game and fans can sometimes transmit that even more onto the players by creating a nervy atmosphere. We know what we need to and the players will hopefully produce their best performances. We have already won twice in the midlands this season and just need one more to round it all off. We might be missing Chensey but they are missing Chris Brunt. That guy is arguably their best creative player.
Plus at this stage in the season points on the board take on added value. All we have to do is match spuds and newcastles results and 3rd is ours. We are easily the favourites and both of those are playing top 8 sides.
Be good if they did it across the whole league pal. Never have I seen relegation, title and CL all go down to the final day where each one could easily go either way ( well at least for a while). It is the bbc though so they probably **** up the coverage on motd some how.....
Expecting others to do you a favour is a very bad way to progress. You risk not even making the top four that way, let alone coming third.
We arent though. I just saying that in the end I dont think we will need anything. Obviously it would help matters if we just won at a canter though.
Agree with that Arsenal have got to do a job tomorrow, I think they know what's at stake and I'm expecting them to approach the game properly. I think the pressure is on Spurs also though, they looked dead cert for a Champions League place for most of the season, until we instigated their downfall with the 5-2 (Jack, Cym and Piskie power that is.... ) if they fail to qualify it will be one of the biggest bottlings ever.
chesny is doubtful dempsey out bryan ruiz out and sidwell out for fulham odemwingie IN for us! . Things could hardly get worse could they?....
