Ok fair enough. This season's league table might be a one-off, let's take a look at last season's instead. Cheap shot? Fair cop. But I have named the positions, quantified the shortcomings, highlighted the competition, cited an example of a superior, but failing squad, and offered the challenge that will blow my argument apart. Really, I am trying to be fair. 11+ LFC Players Take your time.
Abuse. Brilliant. I do realise it is an uncomfortable position, it is much easier to type "We are 2 or 3 players short" and go back to your beer, but for once, look beyond the bullshit, take yourself out of the hope, and analyse the reality.
Where's the law that says anyone has to take up your challenge based on your rules. You set up a challenge based on a non-sequitur employing irrelevant parameters. You can call it running away if it makes you feel better, but personally I just can't be bothered with a meaningless argument. A team is much more than a collection of individuals and a head to head comparison is utterly pointless.
Im that case, you must believe that you have 19 or 20 Players of sufficient quality to compete with the strongest squads, I would love to know who they are.
I think that, providing we sort out our finishing and buy a few new players in the key positions we require, we'll challenge for the top 4 next year. Although, having said that, I thought we'd be challenging for a top 4 position this year...and we all know how that went! Here's to us avoiding another anus horribilus. That's latin for shocking arse...just like my bird's! It's ok, she's never on this website. ... ...too busy looking at expensive shoes... ...and massive pants! Right I'll stop there, I think...[gets coat - or would do if GF wasn't sitting on it; I'll never pull that out. Never mind, It's not that cold out tonight...]
Back to the point of the thread - DS can get knotted! - Is it a reasonable goal? I think top 4 is not impossible. Arsenal are still a fragile side subject, their defence is not in any way or shape robust enough to guarantee a top 4 finish - witness some of their nightmares this season and look at their players at the back. Only Vermalen is really top drawer. Chelsea have demonstrated that they are more than fallible this season and may well finish outside of the CL, while Spurs have had a great season, but one swallow doesn't make the summer. Newcastle will, no doubt, fill Ashley's wallet in the summer, so I expect that poor Pards will have to rebuild again with pennies (relatively speaking!). To be honest, the only sides guaranteed a top 4 are Manchester and Salford (assuming SirExLax doesn't retire...)
No they don't, they have more than 25, hence they can loan out Adebeyor, who would walk into LFC's 1st XI, also lend Guidetti to Feyenoord (20 goals in 21 games),let Tevez play Golf for 6 months, and still compete for the title. They need a Centre Half. And probably will change one of their full backs, don't see another weakness They ain't won it yet.
