I personaly think Nicks appeal is about him proving he hasnt done anything wrong and not about money or getting his job back, more to do with pride then anything else

    APM,

Re Bullard that was my info too. Plus, I was told that Bullard's alleged antics at Ipswich would have made the chances of any appeal, were leave to be granted, remote.

Good point re Barmby. I have assumed it is still an internal club matter therefore 7-10 days to hear any appeal would seem reasonable.

A week, just a formality so he can claim compensation, he will not be reinstated.

Do none of you have a contract of employment or a works handbook? Go and read it and find out about the appeals process

Come on - it's like a primary schools message board at times!

Rather than post something derogatory, why don't you tell everyone the exact process? Thanks <ok>

7 days to appeal a decision. Then a hearing date would be set, normally for between 7 and 14 days from receipt of the appeal letter. Generally the employee will hear the hearing as early as possible, but usually there may be a delay where the person appealing sorts out a witness.

Appeal would be a similar timeframe as the initial hearing with a delay of at least 24 hours to the outcome.

Even after this stage if the person appealing doesn't get a favourable decision then they could take it to an employment tribunal with all parties getting a day out in court.

I don't know about you but aged 8 I was more concerned with being a Power Ranger and playing Pokemon than I was about contract terminations.

Clearly we don't all see things the same way. The Allams saw Adam P as superfluous to club needs and Nicky B as guilty of a breach of club rules. You, I presume, don't. So I'll ask again, what evidence do you have that we can't blame AP or NB?

Surely you should need evidence to blame them rather than evidence to not blame them?

employers are free to have whatever appeals process they like. It is recommended that employers use the acas recommendation which you refer to, but its not compulsory. Therefore we don't know what the clubs appeal process is.

Right, I'm off back out to play in my sand pit

Barmby won't be appealing to get his job back, what would be the point? He's not going to want to work for them again. As for compo, well it's all about the contract, if something's been written in saying that if he gets fired or quits within say 6 months then he's not entitled to anything, imagine how much Abramovich must be paying out over the last few years, I never hear about appeals from them, although not normally cloak & dagger sackings either. This has to be to try to clear his name, maybe get more compo if his contract does state no payout!

I would think he has been advised on how to handle the situation by the League Managers Association who will have told him to appeal. I bet he is busting a gut to be able to give his side of the story, he lives in this city, he can't run off back to wherever and lick his wounds, he will not want his reputation and character put into question by the Allams. Good luck to him I really hope he can come out of this looking a lot more dignified then the Allams.
